I doubt there was any Army/Marine basic training company in the 60’s that didn’t have a “Fire in the hole” dropped grenade event on the range.

Yep, we had a mortar training incident in Puerto Rico that killed 5 guys not to mention all the Helicopter crashes, malfunctioning parachutes, jumping in high winds, range incidents, many people injured or dead and that was just training in the 60's. Infantry is a dangerous job period.
