What happens when the congressional representative of this uber-liberal enclave — who also happens to be leader of House Democrats — starts dancing with the devil?
Nancy Pelosi, along with her Senate counterpart, Charles E. Schumer, convinced President Trump to override his advisors and ignore congressional Republicans by agreeing to a three-month extension of the nation’s debt limit, emergency aid for Hurricane Harvey victims and other federal spending.
The next day, at Pelosi’s behest, the president tweeted reassurance to “Dreamers” — immigrants brought to America illegally as children — that they needn’t worry about deportation during the six months Congress works to resolve their ambiguous state.
And Wednesday night, “Nancy and Chuck,” as the president chummily called the pair, joined the president for dinner at the White House, where Democrats said they reached agreement with Trump to permanently protect the Dreamers as part of a larger border security package.
Trump failed to win a measly 10% of the vote here in November but, even so, many said they were just fine with Pelosi’s new BFF.

Trump is gaining enormous political capital with this move...forcing Congressional Republicans to give him what he wants for fear of unelection, and at the same time winning real good will with the posturing peacocks in the Dim party.
I believe it'll end with a great win.

Imagine the heat the Dim will take for “dealing with the devil” and “normalizing Trump”
Why not? Naturally, the LAT will give Trump kudos when he follows Ryan and McConnell’s example in caving to the Democrats,giving them more than they asked for. Maybe he and Bernie can run on the same ticket in 2020.

Trump will not change his position.
He will tie the Dims up in negotiation, never say no, and let them beg for a way out that saves face.
All the while the worthless Republicans will be moving legislation to his liking.
Yeah, the Congressional investigations into Trump-Russian collusion are over.
Effectively.
And Mueller is out on a limb.

Oh, please. He was once taken to the woodshed in a deal by Merv Freakin’ Griffin, and that was in his field.
Do you really trust that he’s going to get one over on Schumer and Pelosi who have been playing this particular game for a combined 332 years?
The second he starts working with them, we’ve lost.
Do you really think Schumer and Pelosi are that stupid? I mean, yes, Republican leaders really are that stupid, but they are only good at getting elected. Dems are good at moving the goalposts.
