We do not wait for the government to come in and tell us what to do and the Cajun Navy is an example. We are guided by the Higher Power not political power.
Watching the Cajun Navy and the many other volunteers help in these disasters has tweaked my own behavior. I don’t get involved with anything that doesn’t concern me...maybe send some $ to FR and a couple of charities, but that’s it.
This morning at the pharmacy while picking up some meds, I overheard an Hispanic gentleman getting jerked around on his phone by his healthcare company. He was coming from Mass which was across the street and he is covered for Uber, etc. to take him to his Heart Doctor.
They wouldn’t get him. While I’d never seen this man before in my life, and his doctor was 5 miles out of my way, I offered to drive him which he appreciatively accepted. It felt good...and probably would never happened if I hadn’t seen fellow citizens helping others. I hope this same behavior isn’t fleeting.
