A backpack-mounted fire hose sounds like a handy accessory.
Well I like baseball therefore I must also enjoy racism.
Case in point.
No, it isn't. Most Americans haven't even experienced real racism. You might get a taste of the real thing if you go to Kosovo, walk up to a stranger and say, "good morning" in Serbian. If the stranger happens to be Albanian, you might wind up dead--and the same thing might happen if you greet him in Albanian and he happens to be a Serb.
Thanks for analysis. I’m anticipating Manfred being pressured to make a political statement as well.
You posted:
“The 2017 World Series will be determined by which postseason team has the best regular-season record to have home field advantage.”
I had a question about that and looked it up.
Under the new system, the team with the better record will open the World Series at home. If both teams have the same record, the next tiebreaker is head-to-head record. If that doesnt solve it, the team with the best record within its own division gets home-field advantage.
They’ve already torn down almost all of the stadiums of old. The ballparks where the records were made, history happened, and memories were made.
It’s a global concern. They did it in Europe too.
Break with the past.
Just a few more filthy Commies sorely in need of a helicopter ride.

‘It Was Like A War Zone’: Busing In Boston
Earlier that summer of 1974, federal District Court Judge W. Arthur Garrity ruled that the Boston School Committee had deliberately segregated the citys schools, creating one system for blacks and another for whites separate, unequal and unconstitutional.
The remedy to achieve racial balance and desegregate schools was busing. Some 18,000 black and white students were ordered to take buses to schools outside of their neighborhoods...
Southie was ground zero for anti-busing rage. Hundreds of white demonstrators children and their parents pelted a caravan of 20 school buses carrying students from nearly all-black Roxbury to all-white South Boston. The police wore riot gear...
...”I had never seen that kind of anger in my life. It was so ugly,” said patrolman Francis Mickey Roache (South Boston High Class of 1954), who was on duty at the school that first day of desegregation, when protesters turned on him.
“These are women, and people who were probably my mother’s age, and they were just screaming, ‘Mickey, you gotta quit, you gotta quit!’ They picked me out because they knew me. I was a South Boston boy, I grew up in Southie,” he remembered. “And I said, ‘I’m just standing there.’ I said, ‘I’m assigned to this. I have five children. I love my profession. I don’t wish you any harm but I’m here to make sure that nobody gets hurt.’ And in the police department I wasn’t too popular.”...
By October The Boston Globe wrote: “What we prayed wouldn’t happen has happened. The city of Boston has gotten out of control.”
A group of whites in South Boston brutally beat a Haitian resident of Roxbury who had driven into their neighborhood. A month later some black students stabbed a white student at South Boston High. The school was shut down for a month.
Then-Gov. Francis Sargent put the National Guard on alert. State police were called in and would remain on duty on the streets of South Boston for the next three years.
But President Gerald Ford refused to mobilize U.S. marshals, saying it was up to federal court judges to enforce the desegregation order...
“Idiots. I hope someone poured beer on them.”
The price of beer at sporting events is too steep to waste on idiots.
I am so sick of these ashholes.
That was over forty years ago,for heaven’s sake———Boston was accused of being racist now.
I’d like couple of examples.
.
Actually, if someone really wanted to push this out a ways...
Baseball should be stopped.
The MLB should be abolished.
All games should end.
As confederate monuments come down.
As Jefferson, Washington, etc., monuments come down.
So must baseball come down.
Because baseball was initially was racist. (And many claim today that it is still racist.)
Blacks were not allowed to play. Black had to have their own league.

The New York Times ran a similar headline, and focused on the color line.
The Boston Daily Globe also ran the same story the same day with the same information,
The Washington Critic also ran the story
The Boston Post printed a very truncated version

When the NBA admits to racism I’ll pay attention-——until then, nope.
There are more blacks in MLB that there are in the NHL-——who really cares about this crap?
.
You had to have a heart of stone not to chuckle at the Boston race riots. Here was a self-righteous city ever ready to criticize the South for our dealings with blacks.
This encouraged blacks to move North. Funny how Boston started having race problems. Surely the enlightened northeast would embrace the diversity. Yeah, right.
Baseball is one of the least racist things you will find today. I root for the Pittsburgh Pirates who have a number of outstanding black players (Andrew McCutcheon, Josh Harrison, Josh Bell, etc.). All really good guys too.
Baseball fans? I seriously doubt they’re fans...
