Those fires in Montana burned a million acres of forests--the size of the entire state of NEW JERSEY. Friends who intended to vacation in Montana's Glacier National Park, were turned away by the fires, and thick smoke and ash. Meanwhile, the Drivebys, focused on the East Coast hurricanes, pretty much ignored the western wildfires. A metaphor?
I'm right in the middle of the fires, the Montana excuse for news media has followed their Masters' lead in ignoring everything but the Really Big Stories out in Western Montana while the rest of the state gets

...and the only thing close to a metaphor I can think of is "We didn't vote the way the Elites wanted so we can just shut up and burn out."

Haven't had any fires. Yet.
Friends and neighbors who have aren't really out loud PO'd, but between the rumors making the rounds out in the Eastern ranchlands and the absolute dead silence after those words get passed, BLM/Forest Service/USDA people might be more comfortable if we all were having screaming fits.
This whole situation sucks.
