Former President Barack Obama on Wednesday warned that Republican-backed efforts to undo the Affordable Care Act would cause “real human suffering” and said “people are alive today" because of his signature legislation.
“So when I see people trying to undo that hard-won progress for the 50th or 60th time, with bills that would raise costs or reduce coverage or roll back protections for older Americans or people with pre-existing conditions, the expecting mom or the child with autism or asthma for whom coverage would once again be almost unattainable, it is aggravating,” Obama said at an event hosted by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in New York City.
“And all of this being done without any demonstrable economic or actuarial or plain common-sense rationale. It frustrates. And it’s certainly frustrating to have to mobilize every couple of months to keep our leaders from inflicting real human suffering on our constituents,” the former president continued.

Obama hates the Cassidy bill because it takes power away from Washington and puts it in the states. States can then decide what health care policy they want. It is a serious blow to any attempt at single-payer, because those states that set up strong, market based competitive systems will have quality, affordable health care. No one sized fits all approach.

The entire Patient Protection and Healthcare Act set up a healthcare welfare system!!! It does not operate on the actuarial principles of insurance, but is another government scam taxing working Americans to pay for healthcare for low income Americans who will not hold a job or try to seek education or a means to get a better job.
The entire law is set up to provide a tremendous benefit for Democrat voters at the expense of Republican voters who typically are able to secure employment providing some modicum of healthcare benefits. You have done the same thing with the Earned Income Credit and the Child Tax Credit (and Additional Child Tax Credit) clearly excessively taxing businesses and taxpayers to provide thousands of dollars in giveaway refunds to REPORTING that they make under $15,050 individually or $20,000 married.
Apparently no one left in the media is willing to report on the complete deceit that those systems have become to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars cost to the disenfranchised working Americans to provide benefits and money to those who vote Democrat and millions (30+) illegal aliens. Apparently, only God cares any more because it looks like non one else does.
Need cross state line insurance buying as well. WA totally destroyed the insurance industry here when the state told those companies doing business had to include all sorts of coverage that people didn’t want but had to buy. There used to be 12 companies doing business here and there’s just two left, the others pulled out. Premiums then went through the roof.
The $30K per year can BUY you a whole lot of fine healthcare if needed and still have a pile of cash leftover. You could get a Brand New Hip Replacement and still come out ahead.
