Paterson mayor, 3 others plead guilty in overtime scandal

PATERSON - Mayor Jose"Joey" Torres and three department of public works supervisors accepted plea deals Friday on charges they acted as the mayor's personal handymen while bilking the city for overtime.

(File photo) The four were due before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Sheila Venable at 1:30 p.m. for a hearing but negotiations delayed the start of the proceeding until after 5 p.m.
