California on Friday expanded its market for buying and trading permits to emit greenhouse gases to include the Canadian province of Ontario.

The market is the centerpiece of California’s cap-and-trade program, which aims to reduce carbon pollution over time by capping emissions and requiring companies to obtain permits to pollute. Quebec is already part of the market.

California is aiming to reduce emissions by 40 percent from 1990 levels by 2030. The two Canadian provinces have similar or stricter goals.

California Gov. Jerry Brown signed the agreement Friday in Quebec at a meeting with officials of both provinces, capping off a week-long trip to the East Coast and Canada to promote the state’s climate change-fighting policies. …

Is this another grab at profits by progressives pretending to be anti-profit?

Talk about legalized extortion.

The left couldn’t give a good damn about so-called climate change. Its a way to wring yet more money out of taxpayers and businesses so they can keep spending.

Left Ontario 6 months ago, bought a nice rural property in New Brunswick.
It invariably elicits a smile when I tell folks here that I’m a refugee from Ontario.

Kathleen Wynne is Ontario’s very own Angela Merkel. She can do NO wrong, and any and all dissent against her and her policies is drowned out by the delighted squeals of the SJWs, wherever she goes.

Al Gore's company owns the patent on carbon credits and gets royalties from them.
No one who supports climage change likes dicussing who directly profits from it.

We’re considering leaving Ontario for farm on the east coast. Wynne is killing the farmers with high energy costs, taxes and regulations. Not sure where to move.

She can do NO wrong,

Don’t bet on that.

August 2017,

The survey, conducted by Mainstream Research and provided to QP Briefing newsletter, indicated 49 per cent of voters in the city of Toronto support the Tories, 31 per cent the Liberals and 15 per cent the NDP. Even in the downtown core the Conservatives led the Liberals by a 43-37 margin.

If the results hold, the Liberals could be heading for a massive defeat in the June 7, 2018, election, given that the Conservatives have solid leads in almost all parts of Ontario.

well, let me ask this question - do the cap and trade ‘credits’ go to the poor, who are allegedly most affected by pollution, or do they go in the pockets of Al Gore and Mrs. Brown to enrich those involved in the ponzie scheme?

It’s my daughter and son-in-law. They have pigs, but have been slowly converting to sheep. They also have a small store where they sell organic produce, range chickens, eggs, pies, pickles, etc., all made by my daughter and me. There are 3 large barns...half pigs, half sheep. They also want to start raising pastured beef. Oh, also have fields of hay.

So you have red and blue states/provinces too so to speak. Sort of like going from California to Arizona. I think your western provinces are more normal too arent they?

Also have the difference between the rural parts and the large urban areas within the same province.
