A political group with close ties to President Donald Trump is amplifying his attack on professional athletes who kneel during the national anthem as a form of protest.
“Turn off the NFL,” reads a digital ad produced by the nonprofit America First Policies, which planned to begin spreading the message on social media Sunday afternoon.
The ad includes a photo with Trump, hand over his heart, and a #TakeAStandNotAKnee hashtag. It follows Trump’s recent remarks, first delivered during a Friday night speech in Alabama, aimed at football players who have protested police brutality and other causes.
While campaigning for Luther Strange, who is locked in a tough Republican primary to keep the Alabama Senate seat he was appointed to earlier this year, Trump asked those in the audience if they would "love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, 'get that son of a bitch off the field right now.'" He added that such players should be fired.
Trump continued the attack over the weekend on Twitter.
“If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect … our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem,” Trump posted in a series of tweets. "If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do!”
NFL team owners and players reacted strongly and disapprovingly to Trump’s push.

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Trump is right to call the NFL out.
But aren’t the armed forces protecting ALL free speech ? Even misguided NFL players? Otherwise we are just as bad as those that only approve of OUR kind of speech.
The optics of this taking a knee crap is quickly becoming a black against/white for thing. Not good.
Is it just me or has this kneeling thing morphed into something other than what Capernick was protesting? What, exactly, caused 3 NFL teams, minus one patriot named Villanueva (I love the irony), to stay in the locker room for the national anthem? Police brutality? Oppression of minorities? I don’t think that’s what’s going on here anymore.
NFL has been cut off in our house! I tweeted that Pittsburg Steelers’ were cowards staying in locker room. I praised Alejandro for stepping out and standing for the Anthem. He is Veteran and Patriot!

Next President Trump as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces should order the Department of Defense to end its partnership/cooperation with the Anti-American NFL until as such time the Flag/Anthem protests are ended and the NFL demonstrates a respect for our country and our national symbols!
NO Color Guards, NO National Anthem singers, NO Flyovers, ending recruiting partnerships as well as ending any Security assistance provided for NFL games! Orders would be for entire DOD, active, reserve and National Guard. If a blue state governor decides to order that states Guard units to take the place of Active Duty/Reservist at NFL Games, Trump should even consider Federalizing that states Guard units on game day so as not to be used by the NFL!
