It is, but the latest pictures of him show it’s still busy at its job. If you don’t think so, just looks at the last published pictures of the late Hubert Humphrey, who died of a different type of cancer.
The difference was McCain ran as a ‘Rat stooge, while Trump ran to win.
FWIW, when his AZ constituents confront him he publicly humiliates and ridicules them and has his goons throw them out.
You know, the same way he treated POW/MIA families when he was on the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs.

McCain gave us Obama. He had more than ample opportunity to bury him yet chose to take the “high” road during the 08 campaign.
My point was that he has an auto-pilot thing to speak seductively, but he can’t sustain it (true, no re-election pressing issues, but then he need not plan for the post-immediate concerns). I haven’t been a fan since Keating. And I believe the compromises entailed in his escape and evasion led to my subsequent disagreements.

His father was CINCPAC during the Vietnam war and was the reason that McCain got favorable treatment compared to other POWs. He was ranked 423 out of 441 and was best known for partying and drinking.
Senator McCain lacked the academic abilities of his low ranking forebearers, ranking 894 out of 899 in his class.
Thus, we see, through 3 generations how political connections will overcome native inability.

McCain is a hero only to the North Vietnamese. He has ENORMOUS balls to even speak of POWs, after what he and John F’n Lurch Scary Kerry did to the hundreds still there when they “closed the books”. Some of whom I knew personally, so it’s a sensitive subject for me.
Death is coming for every one of us, and for many its arrival will be sudden and unpredicted. McCain is fortunate in that he has time to confess his sins and receive absolution. Yet he seems to remain angry and vindictive. This would appear to be ego-driven. It is sad.
