If Pailin wants to run for POTUS she needed to run against Murkowski and defeat her. She would then have had the platform in the Senate to attack the insipid leadership group in the GOP.

There isn’t a single sitting Senator who has Trump’s back. Many have voted for his policies but they refuse to back him publicly in his criticism of McConnell. It’s as though they are all waiting for Trump to fail and are keeping their distance.
