My family lived there in the 60’s ,,, terrible crime then same as now.. I worked in telecom in the 90’s and had to deal with the PR office ,, out of 300 employees only 2 spoke English and finding anyone motivated enough to actually work a problem was a chore... It’s the most corrupt island in the Caribbean ,, the reason nothing works is because they stole all the money rather than using it for it’s intended purpose.

And, it’ll be no different for the $$$ that will pour in to Puerto Rico for hurricane relief. PR politicians & private companies involved in the rebuilding are probably already plotting how to divert USA aid money into their own pockets. Hopefully, Trump will have heavy security in place to safeguard these funds. The Dimocrats would go absolutely bonkers, but I would be perfectly OK if Trump bid out the rebuilding process to construction companies he knows and trusts.
