I have been making this point since this past weekend. If they want to protest, do it on their own time. Protesting their personal, and political dislikes is not included in their paychecks, nor I’m sure their contracts. I worked for NY State in uniform, and was forbidden to participate in any political events while I was in uniform, and on duty. If I had, I would have been brought up on departmental charges, and terminated.

It might be different now. More and more, public and corporate officials are being compelled to participate in Gay Pride events, sometimes under threat of termination.
