FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) The Frisco School District has told coaches not to stop any athletes who decide to take a knee before the National Anthem this weekend.
The directive hasnt come because the district has any indication, or notice that students may emulate recent professional football players protests on bended knee but a spokesperson for the district said it wants to protect coaches from getting into any trouble should something happen.
Heres the message they sent to coaches:
Over the weekend, many pro football players expressed their First Amendment right by choosing to kneel during the national anthem, before the start of the game. We would like to remind you that should you have a player choose to kneel during the National Anthem, they may do so without repercussion.
High-schoolers protesting cops? College prep, I guess...
My son played on a Frisco high school football team last year. During the Kaepernick nonsense a few a their “teen” players decided they were not going to stand during the anthem; the coach was going to do nothing, so the overwhelming majority of the players said they were standing and it was common knowledge that everybody had better do the same. There were no “kneelers” for the entire season.
If you are a parent who has your kid playing on a team with a coach that allows players to take a knee, you know what you have to do.
Leave them on the bench...
Invite ICE to attend and arrest any who kneel during the anthem as having surrendered their citizenship to enemies of the Constitution.
Time to cut budgets. This country was great when we practiced patriotism and read the Bible in schools. I blame the millennials. Maybe we will never be great again.
I watched the opening episode this season of Law and Order SVU and it opened my mind to what our problem is. Lt Benson is being investigated for child abuse when the school nurse found bruises on her adopted son’s arm. She pulled her son out of the path of a speeding car causing the bruising and the panty waist kid failed to mention that.
I used to get the crap beat out of me in Catholic school when I was a kid and when I complained to my father, he whacked me again! Parents don’t believe in discipline anymore. And therein lies the problem - a nation of snowflakes. I know, I know, a lot of us never got the paddle and turned out OK but the Bible calls for discipline, rods, etc. and I will not condemn the Bible on that account.
But they’ll keep building those big high school football stadiums in Texas.
Exactly. The gestures in and of themselves aren’t offensive it’s what they represent. Just as a swastika and hammer and sickle aren’t in and of themselves evil but what is represented by them.
Evil is everywhere and educational buildings are the homes for much of ‘it’.
There aren’t many Texans living in Frisco.
The city leadership is a crew of jockstrap sniffers. They live for sports, with a pro baseball team, a pro soccer team, and facilities for pro hockey and football. Tax dollars helped fund 3 large stadiums (including a domed one for the Dallas Cowboys).
Frisco is Sports Uber Alles.
Thanks for the informative reply.
I would argue in response that children should not be required to do anything then.
If schools have no power to demand students show requisite respect for the flag and our anthem, then how can they demand the students go to class? How can the school demand they go to the auditorium? How can the school demand they turn in assignments? How can the school demand they participate in physical education? How can the school deny them a straight A for any class they have signed up for, no matter if they participate or not?
Upper middle class white pussies
I’m responding to two of your posts there.
Rush Limbaugh presented a very astounding couple of facts the other day on his show.
Of the Black homes in America with two parents, 88% of them live above the poverty level.
Of the Black single female parent homes, only 33% live below the poverty level.
I will add, that two people living together making just $10.00 dollars and hour, earn over $40,000 dollars a year.
Just a few years ago the only thing worth mentioning about Frisco were whore houses along 121 and Preston.
At our game last night
Independence versus Brentwood
Which in tennessee would be Ike Plano versus Frisco
Indy is decent income but brentwood which borders Belle Meade and Forest Hills in Nashville is rich....very rich
My son plays for Indy as a frosh but dressed out for varsity...this once
We lost to the “snobs” badly I might add at home
We are much further out county nearer to the Yankee land of the GMC plant
Anyhow at anthem time everybody stood and the mic the girl was using went out so the audience of 3-4000 dry sang it
In the rolling hills under 60 degree pink sky night in middle tennessee it was surreal
The lady next to me has the sweetest voice
It was a moment
We left early.....

Man for a kid in the 70s from Jackson Mississippi it was an eye opener to see how they lived
It was posh
Spanish revival mansions and gorgeous honey blonde girls lounging at the pool
But they were bored
Nailed it. It’s one of the favored suburbs for Indians here on H-1 visas.
My son goes to Coppell, he told me not to worry, his coaches said no kneeling in no uncertain terms.

Waste of time, Bezos has already signed for a chunk of the old CNWS property with water access.
