Counting floors in these hotels from the outside can be slightly difficult. The first floor or lobby area sometimes has the height of 2 to 3 or 4 floors. How do you count it ?

How does one make money over any long period of time playing video poker machines? The machine is rigged to return a small percentage to the house over time even if you play each hand perfectly.

23 guns, two rifles mounted on tripods, 19 guns at home, bought 3 guns, 2 rifles and 1 handgun recently, passed background. Properties in multiple states, brother in RE business with him; seems both are millionaires, at least Paddock is.

You don’t. As you point out these things are carefully calculated to make money for the house.
But a criminal who needs to explain large amounts of money can make it appear legit by claiming to be a successful gambler.
The shooter and his brothers were with their dad when he was living the life of a career criminal. They learned his methods for getting money and concealing it. And they improved upon them enough so that their cover story is still holding up. The only flaw being that big brother had the crazy gene in spades and if there are some diligent and curious investigators who start looking into the killer’s finances the whole thing will unravel.
1700 is fine if arranged to include those two windows, but it ain’t. Two rooms.

This article claims that girlfriend had only lived with Paddock since Jan of this year....but....
“According to ABC News, sources said Paddock has sent “tens of thousands” of dollars to someone in the Philippines in recent months.” (and he was using girlfriend’s club slot card in his machines so she was getting the play credits)
It appears one way to make money as a professional video poker player is to sell books and videos teaching people how to become a professional video poker player.

Pretty much everyone is aware of the threats made earlier during the concert. Also, he was gaming on her high rollers card, which was found in the room, I believe.
If Ma Barker gets pinched 12 hour’s flight time away from the scene, 6 hours after the event, she wasn’t making threats, or in the room, or actively participating, and therefore perhaps an uncontained threat.
Teading more than that, into LE statements seems risky.
There are others, if you know where on the building face to look.

sure it does. check out image 2 of 5, that shows the l/r is angled with three banks of window walls separated by columns, and another bank in the bedroom, covering the advertised “180 degree view”. Image 5 shows that the entire corner apt is glasswalled. Wouldn’t the shooter positions basically be where the round tables are on the sketch? (the elevated dining table and the area where the two side chairs and table are?) The PD didn’t breach two doors, just the one. If it was two rooms, wouldn’t they have breached two doors?
I don’t think she was involved in actually shooting people and I do not think anyone else was actually shooting other than Paddock.
However, it would be odd if there wasn’t at least some hint this man was “off” or at least involved activities or beliefs that could point to a motive.
understood. But why count from the outside when you’ve allegedly got fire alarms going off in the room ? I don’t know how hotels work, but wouldn’t that set off some sort of rather prominent front desk or security desk alarm? That floor would have been my starting point I guess?
Police were counting from outside. Hotel staff was inside and knew exactly the floor count. The first floor count estimate by a policeman was way off. Think he said 50th on the scanner. He was not even close. Probably took a wild guess.
