Moreso: it does nothing to lower the “sonic crack” of the bullet traveling supersonic speeds. I’ve had bullets go by, and they’re LOUD. VERY LOUD - and that’s without the muzzle blast involved.
I’ve been shot at also. And I have handled some relatively powerful weapons during my years in the military and working for Uncle Sugar a couple of ways. Had to stay qualified.
And coming from Clinton I thought her only way of using a silencer was having them erased: like Jerry Parks, Vince Foster, John Ashe, Robert Bates, Eric Butera, Berta Caceres, William Colby, Klaus Eberwein, Michael Hastings...........Oh, you get the drift. She’s very good with silencing.
