I think you are right. i don't think these clowns ever anticipated the amount of blowback they are getting. They really opened a can of worms, and are trying to figure out how to close Pandora's box.

Not a word is said in the media about the three Cleveland Browns who gave the black power salute during the National Anthem! I wonder if it would even make it into the media if they burnt a flag.
It’s up to We The People to burn their NFL tickets and not go. Nothing the NFL does at this point, IMO, will undo their disrespect. Nothing. Let them rot.

Because the players know that burning the flag, would end just about all support for them and push themselves to the political fringe of society.

Brady has already been sacked more times in 4 games this year than in all of last year.
He needs those players to do a better job, so he is catering to them.
That’s what I have always thought; the games should start with a flag burning then everyone will be happy, standing cheering etc.
I saw a story where the flight crew on the Saints charter waited till they were cleared to taxi but instead of taxiing, they walked off the plane. Left the Saints sitting on the ramp. The flight crew, being ex military jet jockeys, took their opportunity to show how they felt about the flag/anthem protests.
