Bump stocks assist the shooter in pulling the trigger fast and there are many other ways to do that. You can bump fire just as good without a stock if you take the time to learn it. So in effect banning bump stocks is really just banning pulling the trigger fast. After that you have opened a door that will end semi autos.

just wait til they realize that a nice light single stage trigger allows you to pull the trigger fast also, even bump fire real fast without a stock. So next up hope you like those federally mandated 10lb trigger pulls that are illegal to modify. So ya go ahead and ban shooting fast with a stock and see what happens next.

One minute after a bump stock ban is voted for, the Democrats will be back. They will condemn the previous ban as not near enough and demand, as a “reasonable first step,” a ban on “high-capacity magazines.” Then they will demand a ban on all semi-auto rifles. Then a ban on all rifles and handguns.

The ATF has already ruled that doing this (putting a rubber band or other spring device on the trigger) is manufacturing a machine gun and is highly illegal.

And we all know that criminals will adhere to the letter of the law.

Just wait till they realize that the Fostech Echo and Franklin Armory binary triggers exist. They will be next on the ban list.

Then that will not be enough, and we will have Assault Weapon Ban II, this time with no sunset.

3D printers are one of the sleeper issues of our day and your line is one of my favorite quotes on the subject. Thanks for reminding me where it came from!

And for those who don’t shoot much, you don’t need a bump fire stock to fire quickly. You can bump fire with a rubber band or even with an open palm with practice. A ban won’t do anything.

Exactly! None of the laws the left wants will do anything to stop a madman from killing lots of people. If he can't get a gun he will use Pressure Cookers, or a truck, or a plane, or make a bomb from who knows what. The stupid left just wants our guns; period. End of story.

Well they can't have them and I'd be willing to bet a donut someone on the left who is also a firearm enthusiast will take out some of these leftist elites pushing for more gun control or taking our guns. I just hope they do it with something other than a firearm. Maybe a needle/syringe/poison/fire/bomb/truck/ or something.

I am so sick and tired of fighting these elitist asswipes on gun control anytime a firearm is used in a mass murder. Every day more crimes and killings are prevented by a good person with a firearm than were killed in LV.

We must never let them take away our one tool to protect ourselves from the bad guys. Never.

Attach it to the 20 week abortion limit bill and see how the Democrats feel about actually saving lives.

Gotta disagree with ya Yo. The ‘Rubber Band Trick’, the Hellfire and Hyper Gat trigger actuators, the trigger-crank assists and Slide-Stocks, hip/belt loop and the newer drop in high speed triggers, for the AR’s mostly, are ALL 100% legal. They do not ‘manufacture a machine gun’. The finger is always in contact with and presses the trigger with all of these methods/gadgets. One press of the trigger equals one round fired with them just as in any semi auto. All those things do is speed up your trigger finger to warp speed. Now, the old ‘The String that will get you 10’, (as in 10 years in jail), trigger assisting/manipulating firing method was said to be very illegal at one time.

I know nobody agrees with me, but I have no issue with giving up bump stocks.

For nothing in return.

They are completely useless and without any value.

And I think it’s ludicrous to have a fight over them, it just makes our side APPEAR irrational.

Because anyone who would defend them IS, IS irrational.

IMHO.

If there’s a company out there that makes only bump stocks, or predominantly bump stocks to the extent their financial survival depends on them, they were never smart enough to survive anyway.

You act as if this is actually giving up something.

I find the argument weird and silly, at best.

And I am, and always have been hard core 2A. I believe citizens should be able to possess any small arm the US Army does.

But no sane soldier would have one of those worthless contraptions. He would instead study and learn how to make his AR fully auto.

Oh the release triggers are gone for sure. The proposed legislation was worded any device that can increase the rate of fire or simulate full auto. a good adjustable target trigger can do that. It will be real easy to write a law banning any semi auto with less than say a 12lb trigger pull. Less is illegal machine gun. We had better stop this or its over.

There are two American companies that make these useless toys as their sole product. They are silly contraptions that exist simply for entertainment. They would not exist tithe Second Amendment still did. You go ahead and pat yourself on the back for being so reasonable though. The Left will be along to take something from you next time they smell a blood party.

It’s not going to stop there. It won’t even pause there. With a nice trigger on an AR or AK it’s quite easy to bump fire and do full mag dumps from the shoulder. The only solution that prevents bump fire or just real fast shooting is a very long very heavy trigger pull. Say goodbye to nice single stage triggers.

Actually, today The National Rifle Association announced its support of further regulations on bump stocks.

“...then they should compromise ...”

Respectfully, my friend, when have the Dems EVER compromised on anything gun-related? They are psychopaths as well, and they will never stop until we are disarmed.
