University of North Texas President Neal Smatresk wrote in August that he was "trying to stop" Trump's Oct. 24 talk to business executives, Republican leaders and others... More than 80 faculty members last month signed a letter opposing the speech. They said offering the invitation to Trump shows disrespect to women, people of color and the LGBT community. The letter also mentioned the federal investigation.

Had an Uncle who was a Prof of Education there until the early 90s and he was so far left that he made Lenin look slightly right of center.
Not surprised by this. UNT was and to some extent a school of music. That is the school’s bread and butter and it has been for a long time.
The reality is that colleges pay speakers a lot of money. Its lucrative to speak on the college circuit. And if the left and stop the conservatives from getting any of that money, there is more for them. And the right loses a big pile of funding. Speaking and book writing is how money is funneled to politicians who have no money other than government pay checks, like Barrack Obama.
The left fears Don, Jr., more than any of them. His conservativism and practicality are truly in his heart, and he’s mentally quick and a polished speaker. He can break the leftist stronghold in NY and beyond.
