Texas is the second most populous state. Explain his win here.

You supported Cruz.

I get that. There are a lot of FReepers who did, in fact.

I supported Trump. From the beginning. Trump won.

Yeah, I was here. Remember our conversations? I supported Trump 200% from the day Cruz dropped out. Remember?

Oh I am not questioning your support for Trump now.

You have been quite good, and I understand there are a whole bunch of FReepers in your situation.

That is partly why Cruz took Texas.

What I am saying is Cruz was not supporting American jobs. Trump was.

Now unfortunately, I haven’t yet seen much evidence Trump is still supporting American jobs. There is a huge segment of the GOP which is still all for sending every American job to the People’s Republic of China.

But he was strongly for bringing industry back here.

May still be. I am waiting to see.

2018. If Bannon get’s us to the magic 60 in the Senate he can finish the job in 2020. That’s 3 election cycles for the upper chamber(counting 2016). That way he can succeed Pence while finishing the job in 20’. 2024? I’ll be 70. My leftist contemporaries will be openly talking about committing seppuku. 2018 will kick off an awesome year!

I'd like to see Hatch go most of all: he's responsible for more lawless judges than I can name. Would'nt a 60+ Republican Senate be great? It could dissolve the circuit courts then reform them with Judges who'd actually rule on the law as written. I suspect too many well hidden RINO's for that to happen but as Article V gets closer to the magic 34 states it could .

I don't remember anyone successfully "nationalizing" the mid-terms except for Gingrich and Armey in the 1994 mid-terms. Can Bannon do it again?

If he can, there is already the Trump electorate in place, ready to be sold on the idea that it's not just Democrats who are opposing Trump, but also the RINO establishment class. It doesn't look like it's such a hard sale to make.

Who is there in Utah? Mia Love would be a nice ornament but has RINO tendencies. Correct me on who else there is. Steve Young? lol

One of the reasons Trump won the primary is because Cruz has the personality of a potato.

What the hell? Seriously? A potato has WAY more personality!

Looks like Bannon is putting some fear into your soul. Don’t worry, you’re not alone...just ask Mitch.

Ted Cruz got the 'favorite son' vote in Texas. No mystery there.

I haven’t yet seen much evidence Trump is still supporting American jobs.

You're the one who posted, "Bring Back American Jobs!" on Free Republic a thousand times, yet you don't realize that Trump has done more to bring jobs back to this country than any president in 30 years?

Tsk tsk.

All though I have been and always will be a Texan Who likes and will vote for Cruz, I still thought his convention speech was a D*ck move.

However, I actually think Trump likes him and the Bannon decision to not primary him may have more to do with Kennedy's rumored retirement from SCOTUS and Trump doesn't want to damage Cruz.

one word, HELLER.

Cruz would better serve this country as a Supreme Court Justice for the rest of his life than as a Senator or even as a future POTUS.

Just a thought.

If Bannon is successful in just dumping five RINOs...it’ll be a major deal.

For 2018, you’ve got one retiring GOP senator, and seven in competition. And you’ve got 23 Democrats trying to repeat. At present, I’d say two of the GOP guys won’t make it in the primary situation, and fresh new faces appear. On the Democratic side, I think at least two will be flipping to GOP. In the Michigan case, it’ll be interesting to see if Kid Rock can win as a GOP.

In 2020, there are 22 GOP senator seats up, and I think at least five of them will be in a tough primary. I don’t think McConnell will run, and Cochan from Mississip probably will retire a year prior, with a temp replacement coming into the picture from Mississippi.

Trump--and by extension the United States--survived Cruz easily, and we will survive Bannon and his Mercer nonsense just as well, with or without our koolaid brigade.
