a couch in the office of a casting director, supposedly used with actors or actresses willing to trade sexual favors for roles.
They have had a word for it since WW2. Weinstein is a predator, but he didn’t invent this technique, and he is certainly only one of many.

Yeah I’ve read a lot of articles mentioning the casting couch. Some actresses have mentioned it. During a roast of George Lucas, Carrie Fisher joked, “I hope I slept with you to get the job, because if not, who the hell was that guy?”
