Sounds like Bannon wrote this article!
The practical effect is that households that don’t qualify for the income threshold-based (4x poverty line) subsidy will pay more. The premiums individuals were paying, high as they were, thanks to Obamacare, are probably set to go up further. Plenty of GOP voters paying for individual (i.e. not big corporate group) insurance are probably locked out of Obamacare household-level subsidies. Trump’s move makes a repeal or replace bill much more urgent for GOP squishes. Their GOP voters will remove them from office if their premiums skyrocket. That is probably Trump’s calculation behind this move, and why liberals are throwing a fit. Leftists are seeing the writing on the wall.
Then Trump happened
and can use the same phraseology to deconstruct obamacre.
So Obamacare was built on clay feet and everyone is surprised when it fails, unbelievable.
if everyone would buy their own plan and stop trying to have their employer cover their health care insurance costs we wouldn’t have this mess. People need to be responsible for themselves not expect companies to cover part or all of insurance cost and it some how miraculously all works out. It doesn’t. employers pay bigly and people with individual policies pay bigly.
If you (others) buy your (their) own policy it will not lapse as you go from job to job.
I agree in theory. Our current system is warped with cost that is undeterminable and ill-defined. There is no way a man making $15 or even $20 per hour can afford a a current premium amount of some $1,000 for him wife and kids along with a $7,500 deductible. You may as well not have insurance at all.
So the entire system needs to be redone from top to bottom and the place to start is with the cost of services.
I do not see that happening any time soon or in the future until there is a severe system crash/collapse which will hurt and kill many. Maybe that is what it will take. I hope not but maybe it will force us to actually fix something and not just throw money at it.
Most people 'missed' this one... fear of being labeled 'racist' if the obvious is noticed...
Obama and Jarrett didn’t miss it. A feature, not a bug.
Donald Trump gave it a blue pill.
It outlive it’s usefulness as it got old paying the high premiums and getting less and less healthcare while the politicians and those that bribed them were exempted.
