Commenting on the left's assault on America, from the National Football League demonstrations to the removal of monuments about the Civil War, conservative Gary Bauer said the political left has become "an American Taliban" that does not just hate the South and "Judeo-Christian values" but primarily hates America.
During his speech at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Bauer, a former president of the Family Research Council (FRC), said, “My friends, the attack is not just on the football field. We’re also seeing the left now turn into an American Taliban declaring war on our monuments."
"I don’t know if you remember this, but it didn’t start with Southern memorials," said Bauer, who worked in the Reagan Administration as a domestic policy adviser. "It started with the Ten Commandments."
"In the last couple of decades, we’ve seen left-wing groups file lawsuits all over America forcing Ten Commandments plaques and monuments to be taken down from courthouses and schools in state after state after state," he said.
“A lot of people say, ‘separation of church and state, I see their point,'" said Bauer. "[But] then they went after the Southern monuments.
"Robert E. Lee, we can’t tolerate that, so they started changing the names of schools and streets," he said. "Threw Lee into the grave, again—well, he needs to move over because now here comes Jefferson and Franklin and Washington and even Abraham Lincoln."
"Because the people doing this aren’t just haters of the South," said Bauer. "They’re not just haters of Judeo-Christian values. They hate America. That’s why they do these things.”
The 2017 Values Voter Summit, sponsored by the Family Research Council, was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., Oct. 13-15.
In addition to Gary Bauer, some of the speakers included President Donald Trump, White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), Dr. Sebastian Gorka, Judge Roy Moore, Dr. Alveda King, and ACT for America President Brigitte Gabriel.

I listened to all the speakers at the FRC event, Gary Bauer’s speech was the best.
Around Reagan’s time Gary Bauer instructed watch out for the international cartels. They were the ones that would create the most problems for our future. They have no allegiance to any nation, only to their bottom lines.
He was right.
