We knew the swamp was bad. But c’mon. Maybe “Nuke the Sewer” would be more appropriate for DC. “Health reform” has been a farce all along. Everybody’s been trying to do it without ending obscene profits and practices which benefit insurance, pharmaceutical, and medical service paymasters.

The only thing we need from a drug czar is somebody who will criminally prosecute any doctor that prescribes opioids for chronic pain in excess of 30 days...unless the patient is determined to be terminally ill and due to die within 12 months.

What breathtakingly utter nonsense!

“This elderly disabled veteran says if you’re taking opioids for longer than 30 days you’re an addict.”

A lot of people save it for bad days. It’s not like they’re grinding up the pills and injecting them every day. I’ve been taking them for a long time, and when I have a few good days in a row and don’t take any, there are no symptoms of withdrawal whatsoever. Your categorical statement is false.

“then edification in the modern pain management techniques. Certainly one or more will work for you.”

Well, I’m sorry, but that is a great, steaming pile of horse crap. There are circles in which one is required to believe that, in which heresy is not permitted, but it just ain’t so.

“7 out of 10 times it’s just a matter of getting moving.”

Really? Even if we accept your numbers, what are the other thirty percent to do? Just put up with chronic pain all day every day because some medical people believe a couple of stupid ideas with a religious fervor?

“Oh, and the people who got you addicted are criminals.”

The people who deny pain relief to those who need it are criminals.

The office of 'drug czar' and every other swamp 'czar' position that does not need Senate confirmation (the number of which increased under 0bama) needs to be ELIMINATED.

The opioid problem is real enough but the government’s power to control is also a problem but there is worse.

I always saw Congressman Marino as a Ryan supporting RINO.

The fact that 95 percent plus of the rank and file Republican members of the House consistently supported corrupt Boehner Ryan leadership proves their hearts.

I don’t care if Marino endorsed Trump, because his earlier endorsements of corrupt leadership speak louder.

Corrupt Democrat and Republican “moderates” always put business interests first which is what the media is saying about Marino and his pharma industry friendly legislation.

Of course the media is in the business of helping D’s but I’m not going to shed any tears over the turn of events.

The swamp is really, really corrupt and Trump needs outsiders like Roy Moore at his back, not the folks who supported Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell as their leaders in Congress.

“60 Minutes and the Washington Post have killed the Marino nomination to be Drug Czar.”

Some of my friends say I sometimes that I reflexively back Trump no matter what he does. In this case, I think he did the completely wrong thing. I fear he wimped out by pulling this nomination in the face of a media barrage. If so, it will just whet his opponents appetite to use a tactic that seems to work on him. He’s showing weakness, a mistake for someone as hated as he is. He has a thin skin, always has, and it makes him manipulatable. He talks a lot about loyalty, but showed none to the Congressman he just threw under the bus. At least he has his House seat to go back to.

Marino was co=opted by the drug companies and gt the number 1 guy at dod in change of investigations fired. a guy who was dedicated to not having people killed by prescription drugs. You weary haven’r had more seen the case against marino. m Trump was wrong to appointing and should fire who recommended him.

After watching that Hit Piece the other night, I don’t think there’s any other way for President Trump to go. :(

I almost fell off the couch when they actually uttered the names, ‘Barrack Hussein 0bama’ and, ‘Eric Holder,’ though!

As someone that has lost a Nephew to heroin, and a husband and Stepson to this opioid nightmare, all I can say is:

Is there really ANY reason to trust Mother Government?

Not really seeing it in my life.

Have you read any denial of the facts in the “hit piece.” No, nether have I. He should be in jail and not in the head the DEA seat.

You are so right. Trump seems less and less confident in dealing with the enemies of the people. What would Bannon do? I hate to see a good man like Tom Marino being slandered like this. When Tom was our DA in Lycoming County, he made many enemies by prosecuting high profile drug dealers, putting many of them away for a long, long time. He has always been a fierce fighter against the established drug lords in this county. How many people know that Tom’s own beloved brother died of a drug overdose, and it was on that day he vowed to prosecute as many drug dealers as possible? When he was our DA, everyone called him Tom Terrific for cleaning up our town and putting away the kingpins. Trump is making a very very bad mistake by caving in to the Washington Post and to the drug dealers of the left!
