Shortened title.

Full title: CNN: Podesta, Wasserman Schultz denied knowing Fusion GPS funding to investigators — with Elias present

Did DNC and Team Hillary attorney Marc Elias lead John Podesta and Debbie Wasserman Schultz into a perjury trap? According to CNN, the two testified to congressional investigators that they did not have any knowledge of the funding for the Fusion GPS dossier that prompted an FBI probe into Donald Trump campaign figures.

In recent closed-door interviews with the Senate intelligence committee, Podesta and Wasserman Schultz said they did not know who had funded Fusion GPS, the intelligence firm that hired British Intelligence Officer Christopher Steele to compile the dossier on Trump, the sources said.

Podesta was asked in his September interview whether the Clinton campaign had a contractual agreement with Fusion GPS, and he said he was not aware of one, according to one of the sources.

Sitting next to Podesta during the interview: his attorney Marc Elias, who worked for the law firm that hired Fusion GPS to continue research on Trump on behalf of the Clinton campaign and DNC, multiple sources said. Elias was only there in his capacity as Podesta’s attorney and not as a witness.

1) I’m not sure they were under oath in talking “voluntarily” to the Senate Intelligence Committee. Anyone know if they were under oath? If not, there may be no legal perjury issue no matter how much they lied.

2) Depending upon precisely how any questions and answers were worded, we may be looking at typical Clintonesque evasions rather than explicit lies. For instance, if the question is “did the Clinton campaign have a contractual relationship with Fusion GPS blah blah” the literal answer may well be “NO” since both the Clinton campaign and the DNC were evidently using their Demoncrap law firm as the cut-out to handle these matters. So unless questions are worded perfectly and exhaustively (e.g., did any money from the Clinton campaign or DNC go to any law firm or other agency which may have had any relationship with Fusion GPS?) the Clintonites will pretend they answered accurately and their allies in the MSM will rally around them.

“Elias was only there in his capacity as Podesta’s attorney and not as a witness”

It’s now apparent Elias knew Podesta and Schultz were perjuring themselves. Likely on HIS advice.

At minimum he’ll be disbarred.

He’s maybe even guilty of Conspiracy to Obstruct Justice.

Attorney before the bar, or not.

From all appearances, the static, interference, and noise is blocking the signal to the Democrats.

The feedline to the money trough has been cut.

The Democrat message is going straight to ground.

It is a felony to lie to or even mislead Congress regardless of whether one is under oath. When you see an oath administered in a televised hearing, it’s strictly for show.

And Congressional hearings are almost completely scripted. Most involved can be seen reading notes or even reciting from a script.

They are deliberately lying with the only distillation of facts to require Obama inclusion on crimes. The dems are counting on nobody having the balls to charge the first black American president.

Elias is going to take the fall and say he did it on his own. Not illegal and provides cover for the others.

Flip one of them to testify against you-know-who! Although that might not work...just think back to Webb Hubbell bemoaning the fact that he had to “roll over one more time” for the Former Twelfth Lady.

But..but..they didn't have a contractual relationship with Fusion. It was with Perkins Coie and they hired Fusion.

Stranger and stranger. I wouldn’t be surprised at this point if they found a dozen children chained in the basement of Comet Pizza. This whole thing has gone off the rails spectacularly.

Gotta agree. There is nothing in D.C. that isn't corrupt.
