In an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative, Boeing President Bertrand-Marc (Marc) Allen said the manufacturing of F15 aircraft wings and other military aircraft parts would take place inside Saudi Arabia.
“We need to get you out to our al-Salam subsidiary here in the Kingdom. We’re building wings for F-15s, we’re building fuselage parts. We are doing massive conversions where we’re taking older F-15s and converting them to brand new F-15SAs,” Allen told Al Arabiya’s Maya Jureidini during an exclusive interview from Riyadh.
“All of this (are) pretty advanced manufacturing, a lot of engineering, very sophisticated kit work that started years ago and now has grown up to this full scale capability. There’s a lot that’s already happening (but) the real challenge is not to bring capability because it’s here, the real challenge is to scale the capability and that’s where our partnerships with vision 2030 will head,” Allen added.
The head of Boeing told Al Arabiya that his company are excited to see the “massive wave of that the (Saudi) government has envisioned in vision 2030” and that they are preparing for the efforts in resourcing with plans and commitments that will eventually come.
“With vision 2030, the goal is to move from eight million visitors a year for the Hajj to 30 million. Those are really robust factors for growth and they’re certainly going to drive an awful lot of commercial aviation in the Kingdom. Across the Middle East region, we see 3,350 airplanes being needed in the next 20 years… that’s a total of $730 bln in investments of airplanes and there’s no doubt that these particular moves and plans will drive a lot of that growth,” Allen said.

If this President doesn’t have much to say about this it is for one reason. They are appeasing the Saudi’s so they won’t be compelled to sell their oil for anything other than US Dollars.
A couple of months from now China will start trading oil futures in Shanghai that will settle in Yuan. There are cracks in the petrodollar dam. Countries like Venezuela and Iran and Russia wish to bypass the USD will be able to do so.
If President Trump makes a stink about this, then it’s a different story.

I wrote several papers for my MBA on Saudi Arabia. The majority of their workforce at that time were imports from foreign nations. The actual Saudis get a stipend and don’t necessarily have to work. I was unable to find out data on Saudis doing what we would call work. If they had jobs it was in civil service and the like. Money for things like a foreign education is obtained by making a personal plea to a “prince.” There are thousands of princes in a hierarchy based on their family connection to the King.
No. Saudi Arabia imports most of thier labor,including the US. They live on compounds. Depending on what country you are from determines what compound you stay on. US, Japan, UK and South Korea have the best compounds. 3rd world nationals live in, well, 3rd world compounds.
The compounds are mostly men, as they cannot bring thier families. There were female compounds for nurses. Mostly from the UK.
They prefer people from the 3rd world - countries like Indonesia,The Philippines, North Korea ...

How does Boeing square diversity and the Saudi’s view of homosexuals? I can understand Boeing not caring about the Bible and Christians but them not caring about homosexuals?
Saudi always has a good supply of slaves. Must drive down production costs.
These companies only worry about homosexuals in democracies, not in China and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis pay pretty juicy sums to get the best expats (technicians/pilots/engineers) from around the world. So its not all Third World.
