FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) President Donald Trumps scathing criticism of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl wont prevent the soldier from receiving a fair sentence for endangering comrades by walking off his post in Afghanistan in 2009, a judge ruled Monday.
The judge, Army Col. Jeffery Nance, said the court has not been directly affected by Trumps remarks, nor would the comments cause a reasonable member of the public to have doubts about the fairness of the military justice system. He had to consider both questions in deciding on whether actual or apparent unlawful command influence was interfering in the case.
I am completely unaffected by any opinions President Trump may have about Sgt. Bergdahl, the judge said. He added that prosecutors had convinced him that the Trump comments wont put an intolerable strain on the public perception of military courts.

Judge needs to be thrown in the stockade for this.
No mention of Obama’s remarks, which were 180 degrees in the opposite direction of the truth.
Were you reading something else and making this comment? I read it as Trumps comments will have no effect on what the sentence will be for the crimes he committed.
“Judge needs to be thrown in the stockade for this.”
And after his sentence is concluded, given a dishonorable discharge.
As long as it’s death by hanging, I’m good with it.
A firing squad would be OK so long as some of the guys he served with an put in danger comprise the squad and they all have live rounds in their rifles.
National Guard Master Sgt. Mark Allen was shot in the temple during a search for Bergdahl in July 2009, causing life-altering injuries that left him unable to speak and dependent on a wheelchair.
By who's standard?
The SOB should be hanged or shot. That's "reasonable" to me.
Just hang him once, not the three of four he’s entitled to.
For what? The Judge is merely defending the fairness of his courtroom and his ultimate sentencing decision.
I’ll believe that if he gets a life sentence...
Does that mean he’s gonna give the traitor life but let him live?
Just follow the federal sentencing guidelines for manslaughter. Min is 10 years per incident. 8 soldiers died as an indirect (manslaughter) result of Bergdahl’s actions. Run the sentences consecutively and grant recognition of time served in US custody. So roughly about 75 years.

and make him give back the money he illegally received in back pay and since...
and a dishonorable discharge in the least...
only up to the day he left counted as “good time duty in service” etc
no future bennies through the VA...
Turn him over to the troops. Let them pull him apart.
