Billionaire Tom Steyer getting as obnoxious as George Soros

Got a spare $10 million?  Then you too can reverse the votes of 62 million Americans, all by using your money.

That's the spectacle we are seeing with these unprecedented Tom Steyer television ads, calling on Americans to sign his petition to impeach President Trump.  Who knows how many times the sound has been turned down across the 50 states that can't otherwise get out of hearing this when he comes on?  Steyer's also planning to spend millions on digital media, and already his ads are turning up on Skype.  Every night we hear these ads, a sound-bite fest of phony claims about Trump hating the Constitution, threatening free speech, obstructing justice, and the like, none of which is true, accompanied with the exhortation to go join Tom and sign his petition.  Now he's got more than a million signatures – 1,119,720, to be exact – according to what must be his buddies at Axios, given that they got the number.

The campaign lasted ten days.  Ten days to disenfranchise 62 million voters through legal maneuvers, despite not having anything like their numbers.  Fortune has the story here.

Trump, of course, has responded with disgust and mockery, pointing out that Steyer throws away a lot of money on losing causes.

Wacky & totally unhinged Tom Steyer, who has been fighting me and my Make America Great Again agenda from beginning, never wins elections!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 27, 2017

Maybe it is a losing cause, but who knows, given that he's seeking to take the election away from the people and place it in the hands of left-wing lawyers?

So who is Tom Steyer?

Steyer is a classic billionaire in the mold of George Soros, who represents everything ordinary people despise about the limousine left.  He's a lot less rich than Soros, with only a billion dollars and change in his pile.  His Wikipedia page points out he has a hedge fund background, like his richer coeval George Soros, and he hangs around the Bay Area, home of the other banking family the Soros empire is associated with, the Sandlers, famous for making a killing in the subprime meltdown of 2008 as thousands lost their homes.

In some ways, more obnoxious. Soros stays behind the dcenes. Steyer wants to be the star.

Tom Steyer television ads, calling on Americans to sign his petition to impeach President Trump. .............................. Where can I find the petition for the Clinton/Obama treason?

When Steyer’s polling groups discovered that Americans really don't care about “climate change”, they started having those groups come out in favor of...abortion rights. That's right, Steyer has said that he believes abortion rights are “non-negotiable”, including the right to abort through the end of the third trimester. Typical political liberal, champion of the downtrodden: he will fight tooth-and-nail for the right to murder babies.

"Billionaire Tom Steyer getting as obnoxious ..."

I went to college with this jerk's brother, Jim Steyer, and he is another run of the mil lefty except not as loud about it as his brother Tom. They are a classical left wing family, all with extraordinary educations at the Ivy League and gobs of privilege.

Note that Tom Steyer was a venture capitalist, meaning he did not make his money employing anyone except Harvard MBAs. That's the textbook approach to now to become a billionaire without really trying.

If we have any consolation, it's that no one will be encouraged to switch sides because of his ads. His words will fall on empty ears, except for partisans already on his side.

At least his money is getting spent.

Both brothers, Jim and Tom, feature throughout John Podesta’s emails on Wikileaks promoting all kinds of green scams. That’s why they are TICKED at Trump. They were positioned to get BILLIONS from old Hill!

His ad is pure “sedition.”

Some wealthy citizen ought to match Steyer’s reckless spending and sue the networks that run his ads and therefore are accomplices to sedition, FOX being the first via the World Series ad that reached millions.

My impression is that Steyer and Soros are not in the same mold. Steyer is a true believer and supports policies based on his true belief. He may personally profit from those policies, but that is incidental. That is not his motivation.

In contrast, Soros has a history of intentionally influencing government policy for the sole reason that it will make him money. He will invest 10 million in the movement to gain 100 million in wealth.

Compare it to Republicans. Jeb/Murphy have donors who expect a quid pro quo not that much different from Soros.

Koch Bros are like Steyer. They are true believers in small government. Whether it benefits them or not is not their motivation and irrelevant to where they put their donations. Likewise does Adelson care only about Israel and does not buy Congressmen or presidential candidates for how it impacts his personal wealth?

We can’t paint all leftists with the same brush. Just as we would not want to be painted with the Jeb/Murphy brush.

"Both brothers, Jim and Tom, feature throughout John Podesta’s emails on Wikileaks promoting all kinds of green scams."

Can you provide links? I don't navigate around wikileaks or other sites like this very well.

I see Jim at reunions and he's pretty smug each time.

Earlier in his career he started organizations that are children focused, at least, and he adopted a few international kids if I recall as well. Meaning, while he was always a lefty he wasn't pursuing big bucks like Tom. But if he morphed into a money-grubbing leftist, that will be news to me.
