A big-shot lobbyist and Democratic donor has gotten caught up in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation because of his firm's ties to the lobbying organization led by President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
Tony Podesta, who stepped down from his position as the head of the lobbying firm the Podesta Group on Monday, reportedly worked with Manafort's lobbying firm that had sought to ease the Obama administration's tough stance toward Ukraine's Russian-backed government.
He is now being investigated by Mueller for failing to properly disclose these efforts to regulators.
The Mueller investigation had initially only delved into the Podesta Group's activities to gather facts on Manafort, whose indictment was announced yesterday, but then began to investigate the Podesta Group itself after it became apparent that it had failed to disclose that it was lobbying in the US on behalf of a foreign actor, a violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates were also charged with failing to disclose their activities to FARA regulators, in addition to several other federal offenses.

Looks like the Podesta’s are going be ‘spirit cooking’ up a storm to get some help deflecting the Mueller witch hunt back onto Trump.....a whole bunch of corrupt Congress critters could be exposed soon

How so? Podesta's house didn't get raided by a SWAT team, nor did he get indicted on Monday as some predicted. Hopefully that is forthcoming, but there's a claim out now that Podesta has been given immunity, instead.
From the numbers I've seen, Manafort was paid over $20 million by this Ukranian group, of which only about a million of it was then paid to Podesta, so the theory that Podesta is the big fish they're after here seems to be backwards? Just asking, thanks.

Mueller would be finally be enlightened, recognize his conflict and step down - oh, and end all investigations.
That is their intent, without a doubt. Everything is spun politically to make the Rats look as good as possible.
Simple: Mueller’s witch hunt can’t dig too deep without exposing who the corrupt Democrats in Congress are......
That would be beyond awesome. But all the reports I've seen, including the Manafort indictment, indicate that Podesta was working under Manafort, not the other way around. Doesn't mean a separate investigation couldn't branch off and go that direction, just saying I don't think Manafort would have a lot of dirt on Podesta since Podesta was apparently under him in this scheme.
No they couldn’t dug too deep into Podesta before finding something, but unfortunately there’s not a lot of evidence they are. The Podesta Group wasn’t even named in the indictment of the others, they were simply referred to as “Company B” as if they were completely irrelevant.
If it sounds like I’m making a defense of Podesta, I assure you I’m not. I’m just questioning these theories that Mueller is on our side now, which ultimately have the effect of significantly lowering our guard.

IMO Mueller has no intention of indicting anybody from the Swamp.
Company A and Company B, it's as if Mueller changed the names to protect the "innocent" Swamp.

BINGO!......Mueller’s Investigation has run aground.....he can’t dig deeper without implicating a whole bunch of dirty Democrats in the Senate & can’t quit because of HIS OWN TREASONOUS activities associated with selling uranium to Russia .....
