I think economic reasoning is still a useful tool. IF something is technologically possible and IF the rich want it, it will happen.
If something doesn’t happen, such as a man’s giving birth, that’s because one or both conditions wasn’t met: either not possible (for now), or not demanded by the rich.
In the present case, I suspect it’s the first - not possible - in spite of the “expert’s” claim.
