When a reporter asked California Senator (and former concealed carry licensee) Nancy Pelosi if her bump fire stock ban bill was a slippery slope to great gun control, she replied I certainly hope so. As the feds continue to wrangle over bump fire stocks, the Huffington Post is eagerly waiting for some new gun control slope sliding. Like this . . .
While the Las Vegas massacre rekindled the debate over the millions of assault-style rifles owned by American civilians, theres been much less public scrutiny of all the gear designed for military operations that is now marketed directly to civilians . . .
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives does not regulate the sale or use of night vision equipment, a spokesperson said, and the legality of using night vision devices for hunting varies by state.
Ladd Everitt, the director of One Pulse for America, a gun violence prevention group, says that should change. Military-style gear like night vision equipment could be used in mass shootings like the one in Las Vegas, he said. (The Vegas shooter himself did not use night vision gear.)
Night vision equipment is not the tool of sportsmen, Everitt said. Its the tool of people who are seeking to kill as many people as possible in as short amount of time as possible.
Like . . . a pressure cooker bomb? Speaking of which, lots of stuff could be used to kill as many people as possible: Home Depot trucks, fertilizer, gasoline, dump trucks. etc. Should they all be banned?
The HuffPosts assault on the sale of U.S.-legal night vision equipment focuses on the possibility that bad actors acting badly (on behalf of ISIS and other U.S. enemies) can buy the stuff and ship it abroad. But the quote from Mr Everitt highlights the antis real goal: civilian disarmament.
The problem here: bump fire stocks and military grade night vision gear arent firearms per se. So its easy to claim theyre not covered by the Second Amendments protection against government infringement. Just as its easiest to degrade and destroy the right to keep and bear arms by chipping away than a full frontal assault. In case you hadnt already figured that out.
[Note: another appearance of gun violence prevention. And this is the first weve heard of the George Takei-founded One Pulse for America. Its Director is gun control extremist Ladd Everitt of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.]
Anti firearm supporters: unless one is a complete moron, everybody knows it takes a human to aim, fire and hit with the bullet what ever it is one is trying to kill. The anti gunners like most democrats, especially those from California, NY and Illinois blame the gun thus want to outlaw citizen ownership of all firearms. If a innocent persons death by gun is enough for the anti gun crowd to warrant the removal of all guns from US public society, why do they not apply the same reasoning to the muslim terrorists? Again, unless one is a complete moron, everybody on this planet knows all muslims aren’t terrorists but all terrorists are muslim. Demonstrably, why does the liberal anti gun crowd want to bring more muslims into this country? Do they honestly believe a muslim terrorist will avoid killing them too?
As a hunter of predators and hogs, I am against the ban to eliminate night time illumination and/or such optical equipment as an aid to hunting. I suppose if one put a flashlight on a hammer, that too might be considered a dangerous weapon. It isn’t the equipment that does the killing, it’s the person using such equipment. Ban bad people instead.
If I am defending my home that is exactly what I want to do.

The Bitch ain’t a Senator!
Except maybe in her vacant skull.
What!
No one ever used IR to find live bodies after earthquake disasters, or in other rescue situations?
Makes me want to go cure my constipation.
