A 53-year-old woman riding a horse down a busy Florida highway has been arrested and charged with driving drunk.
Polk County Sheriffs officials said in a news release that someone called 911 about a woman, who appeared confused and possibly in danger. When deputies arrived they found Donna Byrne riding her horse in the road.
Officers did a sobriety test and said she gave breath samples that registered blood alcohol level of .161 much higher than Floridas legal limit of .08.

I think that’s the official statue of Joe Biden. Hanging in the halls of Congress.
Motor vehicles are rated by horsepower, and where do we get horsepower from? Isn’t a horse the original driverless vehicle?
With a drunk in the saddle, that horse could present quite a danger to pedestrians. What if your car had eyes & felt like running over someone?
;^)
You can lead a horse rider to a watering hole and you can make her drink.
These days it could be either Donna or Donald. It just depends on how you feel that day.
Combee Rd. is an extremely busy stretch of highway. - I travel it often on my way to Lakeland. It has narrow to no shoulders with a posted speed limit of 45mph....which means 55mph to those with a lead foot. The adjacent roads are posted @ 50mph - so it’s worse.
My Chevy Tahoe, only had it 4 days, was rear-ended a month ago by a ‘woman’ who could have passed for this drunken inbred lout’s twin sister...banjos were playing along Combee Road that afternoon.
I couldn’t imagine attempting to ride horses anywhere close to all that traffic. Would her insurance pay for my vehicle if the horse was spooked into the path of incoming traffic? I doubt it...That’s why I carry $250K for the uninsured and $500K for all the snowbirds, derelicts and illegals who don’t bother.
So yeah......charge her with drunk ‘driving’.
“... an extremely busy stretch of highway...”
A few years ago, there was a car that hit a horse (late at night). The horse had accidentally gotten out.. and the occupants of the car were killed. So.. yes.. charge her with drunk driving because the danger to the other drivers was present. (plus, by her picture... I am guessing this isn’t her first offense).
I’ve literally seen this happen!!!
...it wasn’t me, I swear ;p
lol’d at your tagline. I’ve joked with people, “Most people have below average intelligence.”. It’s surprising just how many say, “yeah, I know”.
One day outside a carry out while packing my saddle bags with 6 beers a state cop warned me I could be cited for riding a horse while intoxicated . I told him he would surely tear up his high dollar cruiser trying to get my tag number through the heavy brush area I ride .
Riding mower and golf cart as well.
Very Conservative of you.../s
It should be RWI...she’s riding a horse...
Good point. Maybe she was just using her own self-driving mode of transportation. /s
But.....did they give the horse a breathalyzer test as well?
Shoulda been a jackass!
