I saw a demonstration at Ft. Sill on a History type show.
They have really got accuracy down. They even did one strange thing in which three different artillery pieces fired at three different times yet all 3 shells hit the same spot at the same time.
Also saw a show on the Battle of El Alamein.They interviewed German and British veterans of the battle. They all agree that it was the .88mm German artillery piece which kept the Germans from being overwhelmed by numbers.
One British tanker said they sent 4 tanks to knock out a single .88. He said the Germans knocked out the first 3 but the last one got the gun.
