How far up the Ladder did Olds get, in the Air Force? He was a fighter, a warrior, a guy who looked at the world through a gunsight. He was NOT executive material. For every Robin Olds or Chuck Yeager, there are are too many Lt Col Arthur “Bud” Hollands. (Look up the Fairchild AFB B-52H crash.)

Olds was promoted to brigadier general after returning from Vietnam but did not hold another major command. The remainder of his career was spent in non-operational positions, as Commandant of Cadets at the United States Air Force Academy and as an official in the Air Force Inspector General's Office. His inability to rise higher as a general officer is attributed to both his maverick views and his penchant for drinking.

Top fighter pilots ARE NOT good administrators. Sorry about that. They shoot, without hesitation. They are not the people you want running a company, or a logistics operation. Remember, for every man in the air, you've got 15 or 20 on the ground doing maintenance, getting parts, painting hangers, designing and building the next generations of test equipment.

Robin Olds had a stellar career promoting the mission — the real mission — kill people and break things — a dedicated warrior’s warrior, not a political hack like we have now.

Hollands is a red herring; shame.

“Top fighter pilots ARE NOT good administrators” is a smear against warriors — all of our top generals in WWII were WARRIORS.

By the way the general in this story may superficially resemble a warrior on the outside but he’s just a Obama-holdover sellout, a brainwashed political hack (the real reason he was selected) not for any of his “administrative skills” or combat rectitude.

I’m sure the vast majority of his peers hold him in contempt, as I do.

If you have something against fighter jocks in general (of course you do) — sounds like a personal problem. That’s between you and your hairdresser.

And of course you must be really happy that “BRING ME MEN” has been taken down too, and the AFA now has become politicized with a female lesbian commander (doesn’t she have a big tattoo on her leg? — ha!)— chosen for political reasons, in the name of “diversity” of course. Because diversity is our strength!! ha

Hell, the AFA has gone completely counter to the warrior spirit — AFA now looks more like a pantywaist administrative liberal arts college than a military academy.

Aided in their ascendancy by the perverse cabal between Obama-sponsored diversity police and the petty anti-”fighter jock” peanut gallery.
