Oakland's top cop probed for assisting in illegal immigrant arrest in sanctuary city

Oakland’s police chief is facing an internal affairs investigation, a formal complaint by a city commissioner and questioning by furious City Council members --- all because she—perhaps unwittingly—helped federal authorities arrest an illegal immigrant in a sanctuary city.

Anne Kirkpatrick, who was widely heralded as a seasoned progressive reformer when she became Oakland’s top cop early this year, has acknowledged that she sent police officers to assist federal agents for a human trafficking investigation at an Oakland home Aug. 16.

Two adults were detained during that investigation, and federal authorities have commenced civil deportation proceedings against one of them.

Brian Hofer, the chairman of Oakland’s Privacy Advisory Commission, filed a formal complaint against Kirkpatrick with the police department’s internal affairs division, according to SFGate.

The complaint, which seven others joined, centers on both Kirkpatrick’s statements surrounding the operation and city authorities’ involvement in the arrests.

Absolute insanity. Oakland leaders defend human traffickers - not the police.

Feds make a courtesy call to the locals that their investigation of sex trafficking has led them to a couple of perps. During the call they most likely asked for back up to secure the area but the feds were going to make the actual arrest. The locals comply and the perps are taken down.

Now we find out that no matter how bad people are or what type of criminality their involved in, they are to protected at all cost from the evil federal agents that are depriving them of their right to prey on taxpaying citizens.

California is officially a “sanctuary” state.

Have a problem with that?

Take it up with California’s mexican masters. El presidente moonbeam will throw YOU in jail if you “diss” your mexican masters.

California has already seceded from the union, and become allied with mexico.

The other 49 states just haven’t made it official yet.

Build the wall, build it between mexico, and build it around California.

Serves Anne Kirkpatrick right! Karma is biting her midget ass for the trail of destoyed police depts left in her wake as she climbed to the dizzying heights of Chief of Police for that armpit we call San Fransisco.

If Trump is smart he’ll really focus the energy of ICE on sex trafficking for a while. I’d love to see sanctuary cities put in the position of defending sexual slavery and prostitution. It would make heads explode all over places like Oakland and San Francisco.

It’s really time for ICE to teach California a lesson and simply drive around, find places where it looks like Illegals are working, and round them up.

Do that enough and businesses (and families) will be SCREAMING at the Leftists running the state. We’ve been nice so far...only wanting to deport the ‘bad ones’. But now they ALL GO, no more targeted raids, just drive school buses around construction sites and fields, until you see a bunch, and ROUND THEM UP. Same for restaurants.

Maybe they’ll fire her and she’ll file suit.

It seems like a no-brainer. When Arizona tried to enforce immigration laws a few years back (when Obama wouldn’t) the Supreme Court ruled that the feds are in charge of immigration enforcement. By extension the same applies to all states.

There’s also this from The Constitution:

SUPREMACY OF THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT
[2] This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.
[3] The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.
