Unfortunately we have the intellectually challenged who will always be that way.
People also need to remember that Anthony Kennedy is going to Retire in the Spring at the end of the term. It will be hard enough to get another Gorsuch through a 52-48 Senate. They are trying to steal every Senate seat that they can.
To some people, proof is not necessary.
The allegation was kissing and heavy petting. Only one of the accusers said that there was heavy petting. That accuser has a history of making false allegations according to people who say they know her.
Not so fast there on the polling.
The absolute masters and commanders of the polls are the left wing media, press, and political “research groups”, and they are and have been 110% percent engaged in Alabama politics specifically to get rid of Judge Roy Moore. Including the RNC establishment.
With these allegation, ALL major networks are going wall to wall against Judge Moore. Every commentator is going all in against him. even while admitting nothing is proven!
The negative polling games on Trump have never stopped.
The positive polling never stopped with Clinton.
The negative polling never on Bush never stopped.
The positive polling games on Obama will continue infinitum.
Polling has shown Hillary Clinton has remained a much more popular president than Trump.
The difference here is Judge Moore would be one of the most conservative Senators in a century or more, and 100% of the RNC (which either collaborated with what I believe is a tailored allegation), or is more than a willing party to propagate it.
As a strategy, a better story could not have been told, and not have been printed at a better time!
Notice, both the source of the allegations, The Washington Post, and notice the nature of the allegations. These allegations almost cannot be proven or disproven!
Whether they believe Judge Roy Moore or not, as a left wing strategist with no moral boundaries, I want to cause even his most adamant support to at least question their own trust in Roy Moore!
If I had no moral boundaries and I were a strategist looking at Alabama’s evangelical voter base, this story, specifically relying on under aged sexual assault, would be the story I would have carefully developed. It would be critical for targeted readers to grasp the detail, character (or lack of character), and emotion of the “assaulted”.
My story would necessarily have revolved around a significantly younger Judge Moore, young enough to be more physically active and aggressive, but old enough to have held a trusted public office.
As a liberal or a left wing strategist with no moral boundaries, my strategy goal would also attempt to thoroughly destroy Roy Moore’s entire career, because I want his base to ultimately distrust him and even hate him and the decisions they made over the years to elect him to public office!
I would have paid hundreds of thousands (and maybe more) of dollars for my well paid opposition research team, to go out and find where Judge Moore lived and worked, and most importantly found a woman who would have been just old enough for my targeted evangelical demographic to believe she could have been involved with a man, and very importantly, other women to corroborate the story with their own allegations, and paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to either give me a story, or regurgitate some variation I had carefully designed in physical and emotional detail, in the character of a teenage girl, for maximum damage.
Then I would have worked with my dedicated left wing management contact at the Washington Post or New York Times to print this story at a moment early enough to influence most early voters, but late enough there would not be enough time for my targeted enemy candidate to develop and circulate a credible defense. IF he even ever could disprove something he never did.
It is also very clear, there is an absolute IMPERATIVE! to stop and thoroughly destroy the threat Bannon poses to the global socialist deep state establishment!
The point of this aggressively militant left wing spear in the Senate consist of McConnell and McCain.
I “believe” this is a real attack from a depraved left, IRONICALLY, the same anti-American left wing which celebrates the most heinous moral depravity while attacking conservative Christians who disagree with their heinous moral depravity!
I “believe” this story is a real demonstration of the militant moral depravity and depth of strategy being employed to end conservatism.

I tend to be empathetic to a fault. I don’t want to see anyone hurt, and sex outside of marriage can be wildfire burning many to their souls. If Roy is fine, then let him pay this no more mind. Maybe Trump said the best thing after all: if it’s true step down, otherwise keep on keeping on.
But yeah. That’s a problem with me as well as with a lot of others on FR, and I regret my role in it.
We don’t even look at primary sources for allegations.
I wish documentation of such things was the norm on FR.

Hold your horses, this is partly about how rigid and grim Moore has been. That holds him to some pretty rigid standards by reciprocal action.
Moore could defuse it with a joke. If he’s really simon pure. Like an apology that he really has no such conquest to brag about, only stuff that was boringly normal and acceptable at the time.

HiTech, I remember reading many of your posts over a number of years and being impressed with them. I don’t remember specifics, just that you often had some insightful comments.
But this thread does not contain any of those.
For political strategy, that sounds like about the worst advice. It would be better to just ignore the accusations and refuse to even comment than to make a joke out of it.
Yes, I personally have known honorable men who not only dated but also married underage girls (late teens when the men were in their twenties) and then had long, happy, monogamous marriages with many children and died with the loving memories of the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. This wasn’t that unusual in prior generations.
In today’s political world, the idea of an older man dating a much younger girl, even if everything was honorable (i.e. nothing sexual before marriage) does not fly with public sentiment. The exception is with celebrities dating much younger girls who are at least 18.
But this is not the case here. Here we have manufactured accusations which blindsided Moore, who is a good man but not the most talented politician. His initial, fly-by-the-seat of his pants reaction was not polished enough, but he made a quick recovery by getting very specific and forceful with his denial and condemnation of his false accusers (particularly the Washington Post).
Too many conservatives are quick to jump ship at the first sign of trouble. We need to do better.
As far as I’m concerned, I will refuse to abandon support for any conservative who has a proven track record no matter what.
The reality is that attacks on Moore are attacks on all of us. They’re basically accusing him of being a pedophile. And they are basically accusing his supporters of the same.
Back in the real world, it is the Democrats and Republicrats that are fighting a vicious war against children. They abuse, traffic, and murder children.
Moore is not one of them. Conservatives need to stand up and fight against these diabolical attacks. Otherwise we can watch as our liberties continue to be eroded, or until they are recovered in Civil War 2, which is not going to be easy regardless of the outcome.
