An attorney for Leigh Corfman, whose story of a sexual encounter with Roy Moore when he was 32 and she was 14, broke today, said Corfman stands by her story.
Hoover attorney Eddie Sexton told AL.com that Corfman has wanted to publicly talk about the time in 1979 when Moore dated her, but never felt like it was the right time.
"Her kids are out of the house now, grown, and I think she felt like it was the right time to do it," said Sexton. "I'm sure she was scared to death."
Corfman had been talking with reporters from the Washington Post for several weeks, he said.
Sexton said Corfman's decision wasn't affected by the Harvey Weinstein scandal, in which numerous women have publicly accused the movie producer of sexual harassment and assault.
"She really thought about it before she (decided to speak publicly)," Sexton said, in part because Gadsden is a close-knit community.

In the deep south my best friend had a party line until early/mid 80’s.
We’d do the teenage girl chat for hours thing but eventually the little old lady who shared the line would get on and say ‘you girls have talked about boys, your makeup, hair, and the other girls enough. I have to call my sister so you need to hang up now’.

Party lines are very old school. I don’t know the number of rings provided, I would guess 4 max.
The criminal statute ran out in 1982 and the civil statute ran out in 1985. There can be no civil or criminal claim against Moore. The lawyer is to protect her or tell her what to say.
Actually, my Dad palled around with my Mother’s father. They were about the same age (he eventually became my grandfather). Dad knew her as a little girl.
They only started dating when she was in her twenties.
It was truly a strange set of circumstances, but eventually it led to me. I ain’t going to complain.
If all that’s true, this will be over in a few days. Double-digit win for Moore.

Good to hear. There are many marriages of age disparity that work just fine. But a 32 yr man ‘dating’ a 14 yr girl is still reprehensible.
I got most of the documents from the DOD records division.
They had the history of all his hospitalizations and surgeries abroad (France), and here in the US.
One mystery-he was a Corporal when wounded. But they had no documentation about that. They said there was a fire that destroyed some of the records.
But I have Dad’s dogtags-that helped a lot.
They sent me his Victory medal and Purple Heart which was activated in the thirties.

She was so scared to death that she didn’t mention it for 38 years, so scared she didn’t mention it during his campaigns for governor or for his elected judicial positions. But she reports it now, in the last few weeks of Moore’s run for the US Senate, when big democrat dollars are available to anyone who can derail a republican campaign.
Nope. I’m not buying it. If true, I would care, but the most likely explanation is that democrats lie.

Never Trumpers and drive by media radio talk hosts are having a field day ignoring the fact that all of the accusers were of the age of legal consent. Including the one claiming when 14 years old. For her accusations are the juiciest. Which they gleefully relate and dwell on in a touchy feel-ly manner as if it came off of a police report yesterday. Not as a unsubstantiated recollection from 40 years ago. Because they know these are damaging accusations which will be almost impossible to disprove.

It should not be hard to establish her real age. Marriage records are public records. If she has been divorced three times she was married three times and marriage records usually give the ages of the parties involved.
