Doing that would make the War On Drugs look like a Sunday walk in the park.

We can’t even staunch the flow of illegal drugs; the last thing cops want is to be burdened with confiscating guns.

For that and a lot of other reasons, it will never happen.

Gun control is never mentioned when Chicago or any other Dem-controlled urban hellhole averages a dozen killings per weekend. No, we know the real reason why that is.

It's because it serves two of the Left's purposes: That inner-city black lives don't mean nothing, so if blacks kill each other it's all good, and (2) if confiscation does occur, the thugs will still have their guns and can use it to subjugate the disarmed until the Left fully takes control, and then the thugs will also be forced to turn in their weapons as well (many of them will meet their demise as well because the Left hates black people)

if gun-control advocates really want to stanch the blood

Sounds like they are thinking about a surefire way to increase the hell out of it.

.... Is there any conceivable turn of events in our politics that could make confiscation happen? And what would a mass seizure look like...

They would run out of confiscators long before success.

They seem to think that it will be police officers and gun owners shooting at each other. They haven’t realized that it will be the gun owners mowing down anti-2nd Amendment liberals in record numbers that the police won’t be able to protect, they’ll be too overwhelmed.

I never buy a new handgun or rifle without buying at least one additional high capacity magazine.

I don’t trust our current bumbling, incompetent Congress as far as I can throw it...or any succeeding Congress for that matter. State legislatures are just as bad if not worse. Can’t give them an inch and in fact have to take back lost ground.

I find it hard to understand why the public schools so avoid this.

Liberals should lead the way and give up their weapons and put signs in front of their houses that states “This is a gun-free house”.

Newspapers, TV studios, celebrities, and leftis politicians need to get rid of their armed security and announce it proudly.

Come on lefties, put your money where your mouths are.

“There is no delegated power given Congress for even existing gun control laws”

The problem is that it isn’t Federal Law that’s really at issue today, it’s the plethora of confusing and conflicting state laws. I am the last person to support Federalism, but the Second Amendment is Constitutional Law, which trumps all the state laws it seems to me. The problem we have had is a SCOTUS that acts like a doctor that picks at a life-threatening wound but does nothing to sew it up! The United States needs a Federal Law passed by Congress and signed by the President that preempts every single state gun law and sets the law as the Second Amendment.

For a guaranteed case of the vapors, tell this guy it’s actually 400+ million.

400+ million indeed! Almost every gun owner I know owns 5 or more. And almost every one wouldn't tell someone taking a survey.
