Jeff Sessions: 'Not enough evidence' for special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton
Guardian (UK) ^

Posted on 11/14/2017 10:10:29 AM PST by TigerClaws

Jeff Sessions on Tuesday said there was “not enough evidence” to appoint a special counsel to investigate Hillary Clinton, a day after reports surfaced that the attorney general had authorized senior prosecutors at the Department of Justice to evaluate an inquiry into the Clinton Foundation.

Testifying before the House judiciary committee, Sessions also appeared to push back on Donald Trump’s repeated insistence that the FBI should focus on investigating Clinton as opposed to potential collusion between his own presidential campaign and Russia.

What do the Democrats have on Sessions?

When will President Trump finally fire that weasel?

Maybe we should appoint a special counsel to investigate Sessions for obstruction of justice?

So how do you explain to yourself Trump’s willingness to stick with Sessions?

I don’t know why anyone thinks that tweets are a closer look at Trump’s real intentions than what he is actually doing. When there is a disparity between what he tweets and what he is doing then perhaps it is worthwhile to study a few of the maxims of Sun Tzu. Because there is no doubt that Trump knows them. And consider that disinformation campaigns aren’t limited to wartime.

Apparently they weren’t paying attention when he said it. Or they assumed that it was only intended for foreign enemies and not domestic.

“Jeff Sessions on Tuesday appeared to suggest “

Key word being “appeared”. That’s not concrete.

In any event, if Sessions really said that, then he needs to step down immediately.

If this is true too, then Jeff Sessions is 100% compromised.

I really do hope this is not the case.

Anyone with half a pulse knows Hillary is guilty as h@ll. Even the rats around her are scrambling.

Saying there is not enough evidence REEKS of a cover up.

I really do hope Jeff Sessions is not this corrupt and compromised.

I’m going to put my faith in President Trump over the Guardian.

No one else is saying it but the Guardian.

President Trump actually delivers in what he says. I expect the same here.

#111: "More drastic moves by Trump are necessary. Needs to clean house. Not sure if even he can pull that off. The rot is widespread"

State Department is still Obamaland. Probably 80% are entrenched democrats and communists. It has been a festering autonomous cesspool for years, even during the Bush administrations. They implement their own agenda regardless of what the President, or even the Secretary of State's wishes are.

Apparently freepers prefer to believe that Trump and Sessions aren’t doing anything unless they issue a press release to satisfy everyone’s curiosity. Including that of their intended targets.

Here is one difference between Rosenstein appointing Muller and Sessions appointing a special counsel to investigate H: The MSM, dems, anti-Trump GOP, Bushes, etc.: "OMG, Sessions is using the DOJ to retaliate against political opponents, like in a banana republic!" Never mind O's bugging, unmasking, etc. of Trump.

I am hoping that Trump and many more Republicans put pressure on Jeff to make him take action. At least the DOJ needs to force the FBI to dig up its files containing the reason for the FISA warrants immediately.

Let’s end this “SESSION” and reconvene the next session with a real AG.

The time for dilly dallying is long past. Time to take names, depositions, impound grand juries up the wahzoo, and begin to clean up a lot of jail cells, at GITMO! Then fill them to capacity. Might even have to rent some jail space from Castro Jr.

If Jeff says there is no evidence to justify investigating Hillary, I have to take him at his word. He really thinks that. Wow. He testified to that today as I understand it.

This is a post I made earlier today, on this subject.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3604685/posts?page=163#163 I also think Hillary is guilty of committing perjury before Congressional hearings, with regard to the "internet video" excuse. You could also make the case she contributed to the incarceration of an innocent U. S. Citizen too, as the creator of that internet video was arrested. Obama was involved. Hillary was. Susan Rice (do I have that right) was. (I may have Rice confused with another third person. Something is eating away at me on that inclusion.) There is plenty of reason to investigate Hillary. We already know much of it. Sorry Sessions, the cat is out of the bag fella.

Here is what I Hear Sessions say: "We will use the proper standards and that is the only thing I can tell you Mr. Jordan. You can have your idea but sometimes we have to study what the facts are, and to evaluate whether it meets the standard and requires a special counsel."

That is not the same as "no evidence." Maybe he is preparing for naming a special counsel, but does not want to jump to a conclusion (like Comey did). Or maybe he has no plans to create a special counsel. By Rosenstein's standards, I think he has more than enough to justify a special counsel investigation.

I'll never forget that punky tub of lard. He was used to threaten and intimidate women on behalf of Hillary's "Bimbo Eruption Squad".

All I ever wanted with him is a few minutes in a dark alley, where he'd wand up looking like Beetle Bailey after Sarge is done with him!

>>Alright...I was holding out hope that Trump and Session were running some kind of long game with the goal to get rid of crime and corruption in politics. Doesn’t look to be this way.<<

I’ve been seriously criticized on FR and elsewhere for repeatedLY expressing my opinion that Sessions is either a Deep State operative or a Deep State puppet who does or says NOTHING until his handlers give him his orders. It has to be either one or the other because he’s done virtually nothing to go after any of the known DS gangsters.

Careful. I’ve been flamed here on FR for saying that very thing.

Remember: His daddy was an FBI Director.
He’s an establishment man who is going to protect these politicized federal institutions.
That’s why he picked Mueller. imo

Jeff Sessions on Tuesday said there was “not enough evidence”

That is not what he said. He said they need to determine if there is enough evidence. I believe if Sessions looks it over conscientiously, he will determine that there is enough evidence. If not, we have a problem.

It's clear to me that Mueller's appointment violates the special counsel law because of obvious conflict of interest.
