81 year old John McCain (R-AZ) has had a string of unfortuate heath issues this year. In mid-july, the Arizona Senator underwent brain surgery for aggressive cancer – returning to Washington D.C. five days later to cast his vote against the healthcare bill.
Then, at the beginning of November McCain was treated for a tear to his achilles tendon at Walter Reed medical center – emerging on November 6th in a walking boot on his right leg:

When I fell down the stairs earlier this year and broke the bone in my foot, I had that darn boot for 12 weeks! And black and blue from pinky to above the ankle.
Yeah ... traitorous lefty evidently needs THE BIG BOOT from God, in behalf of doing good, for a change, to the USA. I’d be satisfied if he left the world stage and never uttered or wrote another public word.

First. Let me express my deepest condolences for the loss of your wife. I have already said a prayer for you, her, and your whole family.
Second. This McCain issue is not the first time this has happened in the Senate. Back in the late 80s through 1992 Senator Quentin Burdick (R-ND) was senile and could barely function. The Senate let his staff vote for him and there was no uproar anywhere.
Maybe I am lazy or have skewed priorities but as I get older I want to be around my family and friends. Why these people feel the need to be messing around, badly I might add, with our Country until the die is beyond me.
So sorry for your loss with your wife. I have been there with my Mom but a wife is a whole different story. I very much dislike McCain but I hope that he can be allowed to be normal during his remaining months. Some of that is on him. He should retire.

Unless a tumor grew during his chemo, he has no tumor... only had a clot with some cancerous cells detected. Chemo was out of an abundance of caution.
Sounds like my wife, as well. She was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis two years ago. She'll put down her drink, start doing something else, then look around and ask me, "Did you see where I put down my drink?". And it's right in front of her. We'll start a conversation, and sometimes she just drifts off and stops hearing me. Or she'll start to tell me something, and the words stop coming out, like she's searching for the right ones to use. Her brain knows what it wants to say, but momentarily loses the capacity to say it. It's not constant or even frequent, but when it does, I just bite my lip and tell myself it'll stop in a few minutes. Or hours. And she's not aware of it most of the time. Her last MRI showed not only the areas on her brain where the nerves have been attacked, but it's spread into her spinal cord at the base of her skull. That really worries me.

When one stops to realize that with his votes, he deliberately and willfully causes pain and hurt for so many fellow Americans, it is just and good that we indeed pray for his speedy departure, and rejoice when it occurs.
I had an oak tree branch fall right on the arch of my foot this last summer. Foot blew up like a balloon and turned all colors between black, blue and yellow. X-rays showed no break. Doc said extreme blunt force trauma. As in, "If it had hit you in the head," she said, "you would be dead now."
Took two months to heal so I could walk without a limp but no boot. Top of the foot hurt worse than the bottom.

On McBackstabber, there is no one at home for him to rest with, I suspect. I don’t think he has a real marriage. I think the marriage is a Bill and Hillary model.
I think the ankle bracelet thing has legs. Why be so public about a stupid boot? And when was the last time two prominent people had to wear boots...especially those with n ax to grind against Trump?
It looks like he’s wearing two kinds of theraputic shoes. One for his left and one for his right.
The one on his right sure isn’t a dress shoe.
Very elaborate Photoshop of the seating picture. I checked out the site of the boot manufacturers and they don’t make a left and right as they are stated there is only one model that works for left and right.
The grey area between the white hard plastic under the straps is on one side in one and on the opposite on the other. The obvious sunlight on his left leg is not consistent on the dog and also the brightness on the right side of his face is opposite of the sunlight direction between the obstructions adjacent to the camera.
Don’t get me wrong, I detest the SOB and have for years been one to say that Benedict Arnold was a hero before he became a traitor.
I want to thank everyone who posted such kind thoughts, and as a resident of AZ the whole McCain issue is a stain on our great state. Thanks to open primaries it’s been impossible to NOT have him nominated as the R - very frustrating.
And to you, my Viking Freeper friend, you have my thoughts and prayers for your situation. I would say enjoy all the moments you are together. As you say, things might get worse. I know in my wife’s case the doctor told me she was reaching the point where she wouldn’t know me or her surroundings, but luckily that only lasted a brief time before she was gone.
