NBC has fired Matt Lauer for inappropriate workplace behavior, according to New York Times reporter Jim Rutenberg.

Rutenberg tweeted that NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack wrote in a memo that there was a “complaint from colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer.”

The move was announced at the top of the “Today Show,” according to CNN.

NBC is alleging that this is the first time they’ve had a complaint about him.

Last time I saw the Today Show, it had Fred Willard, Gene Shalit and Jane Curtin on it. I remember Gene’s big mustache and Fred announcing everybody that turned 100 years old today. Usually some woman in Kansas that woke up to a tumbler of whiskey .

Longtime NBC News anchor Matt Lauer has been fired over inappropriate sexual behavior, the network confirmed.

The veteran “Today” host was let go after a colleague complained about the inappropriate behavior, NBC News chief Andrew Lack said in a memo published on Wednesday’s show.

This was the first time an employee had complained about Lauer during his 20 years at “Today,” Lack continued, but executives believe there would be more allegations.

An emotional Savannah Guthrie, his co-host since 2012, broke the news at the opening of “Today.”

Lauer was one of NBC News’ highest-paid talents, helming “Today” alongside numerous co-anchors and scoring the network’s biggest interviews.

His firing comes a week after CBS News fired Charlie Rose.

I’m ok with men being faced with things they have done wrong, but I’d also like to see women called out and having to face their similar wrongs. There should be consequences for any.

To me, it seems the true accounts of wrong doing are becoming overshadowed by many many more woman just wanting to bash some guy or another. Sexual harassment or assault is not at all about feelings but about violence and evil influencing a person and they take action from that.
