This jerk ran for Senate in 2014, dems pulled their nominee (illegally) and backed him but he still lost. He seems to be under the illusion that he's special, not that democrats just turned to him in heavily Republican State.

I can't imagine they would pull their nominee for Governor so will this idiot actually help us this time by splitting the liberal vote so a conservative Republican wins?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Orman#Business_career

Orman has professional and personal ties to former Goldman Sachs director Rajat Gupta,[16][17] and served as his designated representative on the board of New Silk Route, a private equity fund, from April 2013 until March 2014.[18][19] When Gupta was convicted of insider trading in 2012,[20][21] Orman said that “He is a friend of mine, he made a huge mistake, and he’s paying the price for it. It shocked me like it shocked a lot of people when it came out that he was charged with those things.”[2]

Orman has made donations to both Democrats and Republican candidates. In 2006, while he was considering running as a Democrat for the Senate, he gave US$1,000 to Harry Reid, and US$4,600 to the 2007 presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.[23] Public records also show donations to Dennis Moore,[11] Nancy Boyda[11] and Al Franken.[11]

Kris Kobach should be the favorite for the governor’s race here in a strong Republican state. We can’t underestimate the power of the local medias to deceive folks though. That’s how we got the uber liberal Sebelius twice as governor.

I hope Kobach takes a page from President Trump and takes the lying Kansas media head on. He’ll be running against them and the dem party candidate anyways.

Trying to pull an insider, split the voters, distracting campaign to do three things. Break up the conservatives into small feuding groups, enable the GROPelites to win primaries, enable the democrats to win.

Orman is a Republican just like Mitt, Mitch and John is. All of them are Democrats....

That’s always the first question: Will he split the Democrat vote or will he split the Republican vote?

Obviously most of us outside of Kansas don’t know anything about him, so I guess you’re saying he’s more damaging to the Democrat?

I ain’t in KS but I know this, He’s a liberal ex-RINO. He ran for the Senate in 2014, spending a ton of his own money, and the democrat was weak and soon slipped into third place so he withdrew (illegally the state courts allowed it) and the democrats endorsed Orman.

I can’t imagine he would take many conservative votes, he would take RINO votes, the kind of voters that would vote rat if the GOP nominee is a conservative, the voters that elected that swine Kathleen Gilligan. A decent conservative nominee should be able to clear 40% and win any 3 way race. Unless dems abandon their candidate en masse.

If you asked me this question a year ago I'd say yeah. But now there are too many unknowns. The Republicans are headed for a contentious primary between Kobach, Colyer and, rumor has it, Yoder. The Democrats bench is pretty empty. The Brownback wing of the Republican party took big losses in the 2016 legislative elections. Orman could pull it out. Or he could be talked into running as a Democrat. Anything's possible.

Kobach will have to beat Colyer, who will be the sitting governor by then, in the primary. And there could be others.

businessman Wink Hartman

For all you Kansas voters, be aware that Wink Hartman tags all his vehicles in Florida to evade Kansas personal property tax. He owns a home in Florida, but this tells me he considers himself a Floridian, not a Kansan. So he disqualifies himself as a candidate for Kansas governor.

Yup, everything I read about Orman and he came across as a scumbag democrat. But that’s what scumbag democrats do, they run as Republicans in this state. I hope he just ends up wasting his money.

I remember you in past discussions. You seem to always push for the liberal candidates here. I simply don’t trust you when it comes to Kansas politics.

FWIW, Brownback was damaged by the Kansas corrupt media. He should have taken them on like President Trump did with the national media. Colyer is his successor so I’m not sure if he’ll shake that damage or not.

Kobach should be a shoe-in but the Kansas medias will try to make sure it’s a close race. I do hope he takes them on, like President Trump did, to help neutralize them (and open Kansans eyes on just how corrupt they are just like President Trump did on the national level).

President Trump showed the way on how you defeat the media during elections where you end up having to run against them too.

Ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

The media didn't manufacture six or seven years of budget deficits and the continuous cuts required to make up for them. Or the 2016 bloodbath that Brownback's supporters suffered.

Kobach will be running against an incumbent governor and a dozen other candidates. He is certainly no shoe-in. Though he'll probably beat out the three high-school students running.

No, I have a very good memory on who to trust here and who not to. Especially since you don't live here but you're always butting in to Kansas politics. Not that I mind outsiders opinions, you are obsessed with our politics, from remembering from the past.

No, but if you knew anything about Kansas conservative politics you would understand it was six or seven years of Brownback bashing coming from the Kansas medias, gov't employees and all their supporters.

Brownback tried to cut spend spending as well as the tax cuts but the media cabal trotted out victim after victim to try to keep that from happening, just like the corrupt national media does when you try to cut government spending. It was Brownback's fault for not fighting back at this cabal but it's nothing like you claim. The Kansas government has a huge spending problem and the Kansas media cabal does everything to protect it, whether we can afford it or not. Cloward-Piven, anyone???? It's things like this you bring to the table, which is exactly what the corrupt Kansas medias and their cabal tries to push, is why I don't trust you.

Kobach will be running against an incumbent governor and a dozen other candidates. He is certainly no shoe-in. Though he'll probably beat out the three high-school students running.

There you go again, trying to downplay the most conservative candidate, Kobach, that Kansas has going for them. And you wonder why I don't trust you.

I hope that Orman’s candidacy helps Kris Kobach get elected governor.

Most of the people posting here don't live in Kansas but that isn't stopping them either. I'm next door and I watch what's going on. So by all means tell me where I'm wrong? Colyer isn't going to be the incumbent governor? The Republican primary isn't going to be crowded? Kobach isn't going to beat those high school students who have announced? Which?

No, but if you knew anything about Kansas conservative politics you would understand it was six or seven years of Brownback bashing coming from the Kansas medias, gov't employees and all their supporters.

All those deficits will do that to you. Especially when Brownback promised the moon that would result from the tax cuts.

Brownback tried to cut spend spending as well as the tax cuts but the media cabal trotted out victim after victim to try to keep that from happening, just like the corrupt national media does when you try to cut government spending.

Brownback had control of both houses of the legislature. His supporters had absolute majorities. And yet you're blaming their failure to cut spending enough at the beginning to anticipate the shortfalls in predicted revenues on his opponents? Where is the logic in that?

There you go again, trying to downplay the most conservative candidate, Kobach, that Kansas has going for them. And you wonder why I don't trust you.

I'm sure Colyer and Selzer consider themselves pretty conservative.
