It seems the core of the FBI investigation was a very small, tight knit group of highly partisan Clinton fixers running a larger team of investigative consultants who looked into different areas but had no real visability of the big picture of the investigation.
This allowed the fixers to compartmentalize the investigation and enable their cover up of the affair.
Comey, McCabe and Strzok seem be major players in the cover up

The FBI and DOJ are so corrupt that they cannot be fixed. The equivalent branch of the Russian government should be brought in to clean up the FBI and DOJ. I’m sure that the would do a much better job.
The have moved on from the standard Janet Reno dodge to the new independent IG investigation that they can’t comment on.
