The Middle East ‘Peace Process’ Meme: WHAT Peace Process?
The American Spectator ^ | 12/07/17 | Dov Fischer

Now that he formally has announced that the United States of America fully recognizes Jerusalem as the undisputed capital of the country of Israel, President Donald Trump once again has proven that he is the first American President since Ronald Reagan who actually fulfills campaign promises he made to the American people who elected him. He promised to nominate to the United States Supreme Court a brilliant conservative judicial intellect in the tradition of the late Justice Antonin Scalia — and he named Neil Gorsuch to the High Court. He promised to continue naming impeccable conservative judges to the federal courts...He promised to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. To tighten the southern border and to begin the process of building a wall to choke off the opioids supply while addressing a broken and corrupted immigration policy.

He promised to roll back taxes to make American businesses competitive with those around the world, while ramping up the economy and laying the foundation for the creation of more jobs. He promised to address the regulatory stranglehold that has choked American energy... He walked away from the European climate conference and the Trans-Pacific boondoggle. He has confronted NAFTA and ended the nonsense of other multi-lateral global trade plans that always leave America subject to being cheated with little recourse. He is attempting to cut federal funds from Secessionist (“Sanctuary”) cities and “Resistance” states that defy the government of the United States. He has taken demonstrable steps to improve medical care for veterans.

***SNIP***

And now he has fulfilled his promise to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the country of Israel.

OK, lock up the troublemakers.

What about the rest, those Palestinians that are willing to accept peace?

Make them citizens of Israel?

Remember, about 21% of current Israeli citizens are Arabs.

Dead wrong.
There is no “lock up.”
That is not a viable option and at no point have I ever suggested that it was.
citizenship for any Palestinians at all must (because of their past behavior) be provisional and only come after a probationary period of peace.

Of course, they have been offered a three state solution in the past and given it up because killing Jews is more important to them.

I think God might approve, knowing that ALL his children won’t grow up wanting to kill each other, muslims, jews, christians, hindus, amish, whomever.

I don't know about that.

Genesis 16:12
He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."

Genesis 17:20 NIV
And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.

Provisional citizenship and probation.....Hmmm, well that is some progress.

Can they vote while on probation? Join the Israeli Defense Force? Run for the Knesset? Could they work as Israeli police officers? Teachers? Government employees?

One fifth of current Israeli citizens are Arab Palestinians already.....Put them on probation too? After all, you said killing Jews is more important to “them”. Gonna need a big prison, huh?

Why wouldn’t enforcement of Israeli laws be a viable option?

“All three of them?”

No, the 1,794,900 Palestinian Arabs that are already citizens of Israel, living within its borders, mostly peacefully.

Those that break Israeli laws, face the consequences like any other citizen.

The 4.6 million Arab Palestinians living in the occupied territories share culture, religion and tribal loyalty with the 1.8 million Arab Israeli’s.

Yes there would be troublemakers in both groups, but giving the disenfranchised the right of citizenship would result in more peace than they have right now.

How about annexing the occupied territories and creating a reservation system like we have here in the US?

That way anyone can choose to be on or off the reservation.
