Rep. Steve King: 'Diversity is not our strength'
The Hill ^

Posted on 12/08/2017 2:50:22 PM PST by Altura Ct.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said that diversity is no America's strength in a pair of tweets Friday.

King linked to an article by the Voice of Europe Friday that quoted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban saying that cultures shouldn’t be mixed, arguing that it’s “against common sense.”

King tweeted the story with the message, “Diversity is not our strength.”

“Assimilation has become a dirty word to the multiculturalist Left. Assimilation, not diversity, is our American strength,” he tweeted.

King, one of the most vocal critics of immigration in Congress, has made controversial statements in the past, including praise for far-right European politician Geert Wilders.

He tweeted a cartoon of Wilders plugging a hole in a wall that read “Western civilization” in March.

“Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny. We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies,” King wrote at the time.

The lawmaker has also defended former Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who was convicted of criminal contempt of court for refusing to halt his immigration patrols but later pardoned by President Trump. King said that he doesn’t agree that “profiling is wrong.”

His tweets Friday come as lawmakers are struggling with how to extend protections for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which President Trump has set to end in March.

Democrats are demanding that Congress pass a fix for “Dreamers” before the end of the year and have pushed for it to be included in a year-end government spending bill.

Trump made stronger immigration policies a cornerstone of his campaign, promising to build a wall on the Mexican border and railing against sanctuary cities, and has continued to advocate for those positions during his administration

Only character and virtue can be any nation’s strength.

He's right. When my Grandfather immigrated from Belgium in 1919 his number one priority was to learn English which he did in a matter of weeks. His Polish neighbor (also a recent émigré) used to say "Dzień dobry" (good morning in Polish) to which my grandfather would respond "damnit, learn OUR language or go back to Poland! He would also chastise my grandmother when she inadvertently used a French word in the house. He left his Belgian culture in Belgiam and was proud to let you know it.

The Leftards bitch at us to celebrate diversity, then they bitch at us for appropriating cultures. It’s a full-blown cognitive disconnect.

(We have been proud for many years that the “American” comes first.)

E pluribus unum (/ˈiː ˈpluːrɪbəs ˈuːnəm/; Latin: [ˈeː ˈpluːrɪbʊs ˈuːnũː])—Latin for "Out of many, one"[1][2] (alternatively translated as "One out of many"[3] or "One from many")[4] — is a 13-letter traditional motto of the United States of America, appearing on the Great Seal along with Annuit cœptis (Latin for "he approves the undertaking [lit. 'things undertaken']")

King is right. There are blacks and latinos and a bag of others that are largely unidentifiable.

It’s about time ‘diversity’ is being put in it’s place.

My grandfather was born in this country, but he had a Polish accent. Different ethnic groups maintained communities, usually in urban areas. But, I was interested in my family’s history. Whenever I asked him, or other relatives about ‘the old country’, they never really had the inclination to talk about it much. There was a reason they left. They believed in America.

True. For some reason the Belgies and Poles ended up in the same “communities”

And for what reason I also don’t know, they didn’t particularly care for each other. The Belgies used to believe the Poles were ignorant and crude and the Poles thought the Belgies were arrogant and self important.

They lived side by side so they got along albeit begrudgingly.

Pushing “diversity”, “homosexuality” and “feminism” was the Cultural Marxist plan to tear down and destroy Christianity, The Natural Family and Rule of Law. It was only to create “hate” for the Founders, white males, and the principles that created this greatest, most free, nation in history of man.

The Cultural Marxists knew if they could group people (identity politics), they could create hate and division-—which is what they planned. Embedding multiculturalism in children is trying to reduce them into a group which only embeds hate in tribal animals. Immature children love the “same” and want to be included in the in-group. Judging people by their color is dehumanizing and it is even MORE evil to group people by their irrational, vile sexual behaviors-—which destroys innocence and virtue in children . Virtue is essential in civil societies.

Imagine a neighborhood that is all European.

One day, a horde of homicidal savages moves in.

The neighborhood will have been rendered diverse.

However, that will not be a good thing.

This example is happening in Europe.

A. Border jumpers are NOT immigrants.

B. Our strength is not “diversity”, It’s liberty.
