Dr. Sproul is not improving as we had hoped and so these next few days are critical. He has a fever today due to the infection he has been fighting. Moreover, he is not decreasing in his reliance on the ventilator to support his breathing.
Your prayers in behalf of Dr. Sproul are deeply appreciated. They mean so much to the family and all who love R.C.
We will keep you informed here on the blog and on Facebook and Twitter if his condition changes.

Hope you will pray for him.
prayer list for your pings? thanks.
I did not know he was ill. Best wishes to him and his family.
Of course, prayers ascending for him and his family. I truly appreciate God’s teachings through this man. Sproul has been used in a mighty way.
Prayer ping
Each time Ive seen him the past three years he has been on oxygen. Hes been less and less ambulatory as well. Three years ago he drove around the Ligonier Conference on his rascal with a small oxygen tank, but he would get off and stand or walk around. And when he preached he removed the oxygen. The next year he was carried to the podium and preached with oxygen. And this year he had to leave during the conference and wasnt able to preach at all.
Ive been in contact with a member of his congregation. Hes not optimistic about recovery. I love Dr. Sproul and Ligonier. No, I dont believe he did. That was Don Sunquist, the Republican. I pray for his physical comfort and for his loved ones. I will particularly pray for Dr. Nichols and Chris Larson as they shepherd Ligonier into the future.
Prayers up for Dr. Sproul and his family, in jesus Name, Amen.
Please remember that there are now two vaccines against pneumonia. The old one protected against 13 infections, the more recent one against many more.
There are more than 80 different types of pneumococcus bacteria — 23 of them covered by the new vaccine.
There are two vaccines for pneumonia that protect against different types of the infection.
PCV13 helps protect people from 13 of the most severe types of bacteria that cause pneumonia.
PPSV23 protects against an additional 23 types of pneumonia bacteria. Neither can prevent every type of pneumonia, but they work against more than 30 common, severe types.
People who need a pneumonia vaccine should get both shots: first, the PCV13 shot and then the PPSV23 shot a year or more later.
For most people, one of each shot should be enough to protect them for their entire lives. Sometimes, you may need a booster shot.
While the guidelines say that the new shot should be for those 65 and older, if you are younger but at risk, you can ask your doctor for the shots anyway.
I agree. I always enjoyed listening to him preach.
Actually the vaccines do not protect you from getting pneumonia. They protect you from the toxins produced by several strains of the Pneumococcus bacteria. Pneumonia is bad enough but if you get infected by a strain of Pneumococcus that produces lethal toxins you will probably die unless you have been vaccinated with Pneumovax 23 or Prevnar 13.

Prayers for Dr. Sproul. And prayers of Thanks for his work. He has taught me a lot.
This is the first I had heard that.
Will most certainly be in prayer for his health.
Such a man of God and a great teacher!
Father in heaven, Dr Sproul made your Word clear
To thousands, if not millions.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ,
May the Name of the Lord be praised,
O Lord my Rock and My Redeemer.
May many many more people hear of Your salvation, O God, both today and in the future through your servant Dr Sproul.
Indeed I will. Dr. Sproul is a great man of the faith.
No change noted today, on Ligonier’s blog.
Prayer bump
I’m sorry Dr. Sproul is sick, but be wary of contributing to Ligonier. Dr. Sproul has always covered for his ne’er do well son in spite of multiple scandals and paid the son lavish salaries that come from the donations good Christian people send to support Ligonier. In fact, many Sproul relatives are given overly generous salaries to “work” at Ligonier.
Para-church organizations are always risky.
