These fires are also dependent on weather conditions that create the situation for fires to start and flourish.
We have periods where high winds whip through Southern California, making whatever natural habitat that exist, very dry. The moisture is pulled out, and the brush is ready to almost explode when a fire starts.
Is this necessarily a heat problem? Not really. A cold dry wind can just as easily contribute to this type of situation.
I am also very suspicious about arson related to these fires.
Firebugs, and reckless humans contribute to these fires. That’s not to say some don’t naturally occur, power lines being blown down, or lightening strikes occurring.
There is a tendency for anything possible being blamed on global warming.
I don’t think this is a confirmation that global warming is wreaking havoc.
Very well said!
Not only about the recurring weather conditions but the probability of humans intentionally starting fires.
Years ago arson fires were normally started by nutjob arsonists. Now added to them are the criminal element and the terrorist element that have learned just when they can cause the most havok and destruction.
In my view global warming has little if any effect on on these fires.
