A Long Island woman was indicted Thursday after she allegedly laundered more than $85,000 through Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies overseas to the Islamic State.

Zoobia Shahnaz, 27, of Brentwood, was charged in federal court with bank fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering and three counts of money laundering, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Shahnaz, between the months of June and July, allegedly used 16 credit cards that were fraudulently obtained to purchase nearly $63,000 in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. She was also allegedly able to obtain a loan from a Manhattan bank for approximately $22,500 in June.

So what is her origin, with that name? I don’t care if she was born in Long Island, there’s probably the diversity lottery or chain migration lurking.

And that is exactly what they want. Because you know, nobody EVER uses US Dollars for terrorism or dope smuggling, or to pay off Iran.

I used to live in Brentwood in my teens and 20’s. Problem now is they let in way too many Turd World drecks and their corruptions. Factor in LIEberal run NY and voila. Another once decent town turned into a turd hole.

she is ‘a US citizen’. Naturalized? Another lottery winner?

How did she obtain a Pakistani passport?

They should have let her board the plane and get to ISIS.
And never let her back in.
Save us a lot of money.

Squeeze the $85K out of her relatives or they get sent to ISIS too.

I doubt it. But they will want to regulate it massively to make it “safe”. I already saw one story that the Fed is ready to launch their own crypto-currency. And one of the “features” is that they ensure it’s safe and legal by restricting it to use in the USA only.

I don’t think we can afford the government developing a crypto currency after what we witnessed with the relatively simple Obama Care website!

"She was also allegedly able to obtain a loan from a Manhattan bank for approximately $22,500 in June."

Sounds like the bank needs to improve their vetting process. Or personnel.

Quick search showed her to be Pakistan-born.....not so hard to find.

Something even easier to find are the

Donate to FR

links. But many can't seem to locate them either. Any ideas about how to fix that problem? Any input would be appreciated.

I think you people out there better find out> ................................ Us people left there in the late 80’s when they tripled our taxes, and when it took 2 hours to drive 31 miles to get to the office in the next county. (Crime wasn’t yet an issue.)
