My conclusion? This is stupid and we are being played. Reading between the lines, and even directly. Gun Owners of America would rather get nothing than get national reciprocity. Cornyn and Republicans in the senate want to clean up background checks. They are playing everyone about national reciprocity, which they use for fundraising and, like Obamacare repeal, don't want to enact. Shame on them.
Keep the two together, pass them as the house wrote now! Why? Either way we get a fixed background check as because both parties want it. Not so with national reciprocity, so keep it attached so it doesn't get lost along the way.
