I can imagine Stzok’s lawyers picking out the best possible explanation and then force feeding it to him without suborning perjury - “this is what you really meant, isn’t it”; “the word ‘insurance’ has many meanings and this is undoubtedly the one you and your mistress meant, isn’t it?”
This is leaking your guilt so people get used to it and it starts to sound normal. The Russia investigation is the worst possible explanation for that text message. It tells you their motivation was totally inappropriate.
No doubt they are floating this out there to see how it works....it’s pretty weak sauce IMO.
Only a small portion of the emails have been released. There were probably more texts that elaborated on the “insurance policy”. Those would be the most damning and we’ve seen none of them yet.
